***UPDATE***I originally gave this 1 star, most of the reasons you can see in my original post, but the installer called me shortly after I completed the survey and put me in touch with tech support. They were unable to help me over the phone and sent out a tech to fix the issues. The new tech was very efficient and professional and addressed all of my problems. I changed my rating from 1 star to 5 stars because they were quick to respond to my feedback and did fix the things that they could. I would still only give the system itself about 3 stars in terms of function and capabilities and 2 stars for value. I still have buyers remorse and wish I had waited for this system to mature a bit, but that’s on me and I do appreciate the sales and service response to my concerns.—ORIGINAL—Serious buyers remorse. I have been happy with ADT for years so I decided to stick with them but thought it was time to upgrade. I replaced Pulse with Command at a cost of about $2,000, including agreeing to extra labor to move all of my devices over as I had a lot of lights and locks plus thermostat, two garage doors. It was the techs first day alone and he was clearly not ready to be working alone. By evening I told him I would finish the installation myself, it was coming on to 7PM by then and there was still a lot left to do. I was also frustrated that he had no idea how to use the hardwired contacts which I already had converted to work with a wireless panel when I replaced the original Vista 10 with DSC. Now instead of the flush Mount contacts he stuck new surface Mount contacts on my doors. And not even the mini surface Mount. Now that it is in, I find it is dramatically less powerful and flexible, lacking the ability to do many of the things I liked most about Pulse, particularly with home automation. Overall a horrible experience and ridiculously expensive to end up with a weaker system. My advice is stick with Pulse or use another vendor.

Highly recommend ADT. Lance & James - our installers showed up looking neat, professional, rested and eager to complete the job for us. They literally worked all day. They never once took a break or ate. All day I could hear them communicating with each other and not once goofing off. They spoke very respectfully to each other and seemed to work well as a team. I feel like our house being 117 years old, must have been really challenging but they both seemed very intelligent and seemed to have good engineering instincts. They wore masks the entire time and they were so careful to constantly take their shoes on and off as they moved in and out of the house that day. By 5:30pm I had once again decided to add yet ANOTHER camera. They had to re-do our contract for the 3rd time and drill more holes. They worked 9-10 hours w/o a break and were so polite and respectful the entire day. They were patient & answered all of our questions explaining the system to us. We love the peace of mind the system provides and the cameras are excellent quality! GREAT SYSTEM - WELL WORTH THE $$$$ and Great team here in Saint Paul, MN!

A salesman with safe street found my name came to my door and told me he was with ADT and could service all of my home including garage with ADT security. Only to find out he worked for safe street and would be sending my service to ADT in 90 days. We've had our ADT system installed for 2 months and have needed it serviced twice already because the salesman that installed it did it wrong. Originally we were told our garage would be covered and found out yesterday from the ADT tech that had to replace a back door sensor that fell off, the garage cannot be alarmed. Nothing has been resolved as of today. Would not have bought the system had I know this would be the outcome.

Go somewhere else!! Upon canceling our services due to the sale of our home, they sent me the list of the items I'm to return, which include the window stickers and a yard sign that was lost in a blizzard in 2021. STICKERS! I'm suppose to peel them off and send them undamaged or be charged for them. What an absolute joke!

Overall, ADT Security Services are amazing. The overall equipment is high end, the service is incredible. and the overall monitoring services are top notch. Our installer was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and just a pleasure to deal with. I am so glad we chose ADT with a 150 year history of quality and satisfied customers.

WARNING. I got adt couple years ago. And bought the security devices for 3400 dollars and with the service. What they failed to mention is that is a five year contract and now I want to go to a cheaper same security firm. I have to buy out of a contract for 1700 dollars. Which is a scam I bought all the items and now to change firms I have to pay another 1700. Is appalling. I would never recommend adt to anyone only if you want to pay too much for little service. This company is worse then the irs. I since will discontinue the service without paying the buy out fee you crooks.

Had ADT for about 16 months. During that time I went from using it frequently to not at all. While the service itself is likely fine, I'm very unhappy and feel swindled by the sales process and service. I was shopping various security companies prior to selecting ADT. The sales person who came to go over the potential install and upgrades told me I was able to get the service without a contract. I didn't want to be locked into 3 years and I said that sounds great, he was really pushing it when he realized I was leaning towards another company. To his credit, he won that exchange. I digitally signed under the false impression I would not be under contract; about 2 weeks later I looked it over more closely and realized I had been lied to. I didn't call ADT, I didn't complain, I just accepted the service and moved on. It was what it was but I did feel salty that I got taken for a ride. As of this morning I had decided though I really didn't like what had happened, I called and didn't make any excuses and just was charged a $700 early termination fee to get out. I will now use another system, but I write this review as I hope someone reads it and really pays more closer attention to the sales person and do not let anyone tell you that you'll get into service without a contract. It was principle at this point, and it's one that cost me $700.

Horrible systems and services. Liars, poor equipment, won't call back, terrible service. Avoid ADT. Company went downhill in the last 5 years. Do not use this service. They are horrible. They said they would call back in 5 minutes and never, never called back. They said I would get one month credit this year and last year and never gave the credit. I feel this is the worst security system around.

ADT is complete garbage. Don't get fooled by the great commercials; the actual technology you'll receive is cheap plastic... the service is horrendous to nonexistent... and their follow-through is comically lacking. Do I sound disappointed with ADT? Golly, I hope so because I don't want anyone else to be fooled into your time, money, and piece of mind on this rinky-dink operation.

Forget the fancy commercials; the alarm and service ends are horrible so you're better off going with a different company. The one time we had water intrusion, neither the alarm or the company notified us. We paid a fortune a year ago to 'fix' whatever the original ADT installer had botched, and are already seeing those 'new' parts fail. Called in several times to customer service and was told they were busy and would call us back. Nothing to date - weeks later. There are lots of options out there.. find a good one that works.
