A friends recommended Costen Catbalue when the diamond on my wife's engagement ring was coming loose after one of the claws broke. The ring had been re-sized by another jeweler who had (to be kind) done the poorest quality of work I could imagine, leaving one shank very thin and mis-shapen, and we wanted that rectified as well.I was impressed by their thoroughness and their professionalism. The ring (as it was) was beyond repair - so they re-created it, and made some subtle improvements on the original design, and in particular in the setting of the diamond. It wasn't cheap, but it was done very well, and what was already a very nice ring is much, much better. I will be back in their shop again!

Amazing service, amazing quality and very upfront with costs and time frame. We had a custom ring made here, the care and effort that went into making sure everything was perfect was amazing. Don't waste your time at big chain jewelry stores this place is the most amazing store I have visited.

I got both my engagement ring and my wedding band from Costen Catbalue. We worked with both Mary-Ann and Andrew in selecting the stone and designing the rings. Both were very helpful, honest, and patient with us. I wanted a color stone for my engagement ring. Color stones are not as common out there so it's hard to visualize what they would look like once they're installed on the mount. Mary-Ann and Andrew were very patient in helping me see what the ring would look like. They also brought us many different stones to see until we found the right one.My husband had his ring made here too, his ring was also unique, made of meteorite! They were very talented with that as well. We're both very happy with our rings.

We had an ambitious design for my wife’s engagement ring utilizing an emerald centre stone and a dozen or so multi-shaped diamonds. Costen Catbalue was the only jeweller in the city who was up to the challenge and had the depth of experience to do the work.We asked:Are you comfortable working with a fragile coloured gemstones such as an emerald? YesAre you comfortable using our emerald that we painstakingly sourced from a dealer? YesCan you make a 3D rendering and a wax model for us? YesMy wedding band is too small, can you rebuild it in 4 days before the wedding? YesThe answer was always “yes”. Andrew the owner, and his team, are at the top of their craft and are a rarity in this city. We feel so lucky to have found them. And the final emerald ring? It was worthy of a museum

A great job from start to finish. I wanted a custom ring made that was a replacement for lost ring for my wife. I only had a few old grainy pictures of it, but they did an amazing job of recreating it. Pricing was transparent and very reasonable and communication was great throughout. I was able to surprise my wife with a 2nd engagement, and a beautiful replacement for the ring that was lost.

Refused to provide a written estimate over email and would only do it in person via appointment. Gave reasons such as, there were too many pricing factors, that they were a custom-design company, didn't have ready-made molds, etc. However, more than ten other custom-design jewellers who we reached out to Vancouver were able to give us an estimate range and took the time to answer all our various questions. A few provided CAD drawings (Costen Catbalue says it costs $200). Pick a different company that is more transparent and willing to give you their time.

Andrew was so great to work with on my fiance's engagement ring. I had spent a lot of time reading and meeting with other jewelers about diamonds and felt that he really listened to what I was interested in and gave me what I felt was a very honest opinion. In the end he managed to source an excellent stone (the best I had come across) at a price that was competitive with any wholesale jeweler I had met with before that. He worked with me on a design and created a beautiful ring. The craftsmanship was stunning. My wife-to-be loved it but wanted to make some adjustments to style and size. Andrew and his team were happy to accommodate these changes during their busy season.Excellent craftsmanship, honest and genuine people, and fabulous customer service. Solid recommendation!!

Andrew and his team came highly recommended, and they absolutely exceeded our expectations. I needed a custom band to fit around my engagement ring and they were so thorough and wonderful, even when I tried it on and realized I wanted it to be thinner than originally planned.
