Detroit Outpost | Detroit Outpost is Detroit's #1 Kayak outfitter. We arrange weekly guided kayak excursions where paddlers can explore Detroit from the water. We are located across the river from Belle Isle and we also arrange private outings and tours with families and organizations. Everything we do involves kayaking and our specialty is manageable safe group sizes with freedom to explore the river and canals.

Detroit Outpost
Detroit Outpost was fantastic experience. We did the kayak to Peche Island and Belle Isle with fireworks over the river. It was beautiful. Missy and her guides are knowledgeable, safe and so much fun. Highly recommend!

My family and I had a great tour out in the river and in the Jefferson Chalmers canals with Missy! Such a fun day. Missy helped us feel comfortable on the River despite some pretty rough water. Definitely recommend!

Missy and the rest of the crew at Detroit Outpost are amazing. Her love and passion for kayaking and the Detroit River is evident throughout the entire paddle. She is welcoming and supportive to everyone on her paddles- from the beginner kayaker to the most experience. Once you kayak with Missy and the Detroit Outpost, you will want to do it over and over again and wonder why you hadn't done it sooner!

I have been kayaking with Detroit Outpost for the last 7 years and love it as much as the first time. Missy and Team do a great job guiding us on the detroit river, canals of Belle Isle and Detroit. It’s always so beautiful in the water. I love to learn about the architecture and history of the places we go to. Have done private group events with work and with my friends. Have also gone on the open paddles. Met so many nice people. Highly recommend private paddles or just popping in on open paddles.

I can’t say enough good things about my kayaking experience with this business. Missy was a great guide, patient, knowledgeable and just a really fun person. I’ll definitely be back for another adventure soon…
