Without a doubt Kingma Lumber is the best place in the city to buy live edge wood (if you're looking to do a DIY project) or if you're looking for an expert to build you some drop-dead gorgeous furniture. The prices to buy the slabs outright for yourself are incredibly reasonable and Zach and his team are happy to answer any questions you may have when it comes to starting your build.Alternatively, you can get them to build it for you. This past summer I was looking to build a live edge desk/table for myself to level up my gaming setup. Zach helped me out along the way as we planned the desk and colors together. The result was astonishing, and I'm incredibly happy with the desk that I have. It has certainly made many of my friends and family jealous.Fast forward a few months and Zach has now built two desks for my family. One for myself and my dad, who just had his desk delivered earlier this afternoon. Photos do not do these desks justice (though I have attached a number of them below). There's tons of intricate details in the epoxy work and the tabletops have a great satin finish on them. Without a doubt if you're looking to get a live edge table made there is no one better to do it. I'd recommend Kingma Lumber to anyone who was looking to have some custom furniture made, or if you're looking to find some great pieces of wood to tackle the project for yourself. Terrible workmanship!!! I would give negative if I could. Save yourself the stress and your hard earned money. I know I won't get my money and time back but I hope I can save someone else from going through the same ordeal that I had to go through after I placed an order with Zack Kingma for a bed.I ordered for a king size bed with drawers on the side in solid wood. The actual width of the bed is 80.5 inches whereas a standard king size bed should be 76 inches wide, almost 4.5 inches more than the standard size. I now have a bed that won t fit any standard size mattress.The edges are not squared, uneven, unfinished and the veneer is peeling off. My daughter is already hurt twice as a result of protruding veneer edges. Even though I had asked for a solid wood bed he decided to use MDF on foot board and side rails. One of the side came falling down when my 2-year-old daughter held on to it for support while standing up. The slats on top of the bed are placed in a manner that it would show from the sides even after placing a mattress on the bed.He would take 50% deposit even before he starts working on your project saying that it is for covering the cost of material and as a security but would ask you to deposit the remaining amount on the day of delivery before he delivers the final product to your home and you have no choice at this point since you have already paid 50% and don t want to risk loosing that amount too.Lastly, when I pointed out the deficiencies in his work and after a lot of back and forth he agreed to correct his mistakes but had the audacity to charge me extra $500 to repair what he messed up. My husband agreed to pay him cause at this point we just wanted to be done with it. He said he needs 2-3 weeks and I gave him 3 weeks and said “I won t nudge you till then” which I didn’t. As expected he didn’t contact me after 3 weeks and when I followed up he just kept pushing me away. Now after 5 weeks he decided to send me a long text saying that he can only fix it in late Jan since he is booked till February and is feeling a lot of pressure with this so he feels it's best to go our separate ways. He either has blocked me or is not picking up our calls now.At this stage I am left with this weird piece of furniture which is dangerous for my kid and on which I would have to spend more money in order to get it fixed. Please see the pictures for proof. I have written transcripts for all the conversation I have had with this person. So if anyone is interested I can provide more details on how this person has messed up and basically robbed us after we trsuted him!!

Fantastic prices and quality, they are willing to treat someone new to woodworking with respect and fairness, they don't charge a new guy tax" and Jack up prices when they realize you don't know what things should cost."

I've dealt with several lumber suppliers over the years and I can say without hesitation Zach and his staff are by far the best of the best. Prices are fantastic and they are always glad to provide tips and tricks. I highly recommend stopping by their shop and seeing for yourself the inventory they carry! Zach built us a BEAUTIFUL desk! Working with the Kingma Boys was a complete pleasure. They were super informative and knowledgeable about live edge wood and the process to build the desk. It was almost like I went on the journey with them from getting the right piece of wood through to the completed desk! Kingma did amazing work on our custom live edge sliding door! We’re working on renovating our home and wanted to add some unique pieces to the space. Zach was incredibly friendly, helpful, and communicated with us through out the process. One of the great things about Kingma is they use reclaimed pieces of wood rather than intentionally logged wood. Looking forward to working with them for future projects!
