Immigrant Services Society of BC

This is an amazing organisation and institution. I took a TESOL course between May to July in 2022 taught by Ljerka. She was always open to sharing different views on teaching English and her tips and lecture materials were of great help. Thankfully, I could get a job that pays me better after the course as well as build core knowledge regarding English education. During the class, I could also share cultural differences which affect English learning process. Highly recommended!

My family left Ukraine when Russia started bombing our city. We left everything that we had created: a house, a dacha, a garden, cars, furniture, clothes, etc. We left our relatives, friends, colleagues. We left all our old life. We left the house only with documents and backpacks on our shoulders.We did not know where to go, and which country would help us in this situation. Canada extended a helping hand to us and here we are in British Columbia. Now grandfather (66 years old), grandmother (71 years old), granddaughter (15 years old) and grandson (13 years old) are in Canada and we are well-fed, dressed, they give us financial assistance, we were provided with medical care, our grandchildren are studying, we have a roof over nothing threatens our head and our lives !!!! Many thanks to this beautiful country and the people of this country!!!!But the most amazing and delightful thing in this country is the help system that the ISS of BC specialists have created! I want to express my admiration to the whole service and staff member who helped my family a lot. This is Elizaveta Korotkova - Settlement Worker - Settlement Program 2610 Victoria Drive, Vancouver, DC V5N 4L2. Elizabeth. She patiently helps to solve very many and important tasks in our life. It took her a lot of knowledge, patience, work and time to accompany my family. Our life situations and tasks were not quite simple. Two elderly people - who do not know the language and are not quite healthy (both went through operations) and teenagers. We had a lot of trouble. Elizabeth is a real fighter and she solved many of our problems and the family felt cared for and protected. We were accompanied by a friendly, calm, confident and competent specialist.Thank you very much to the management of ISS of BC for such specialists.

They must be the worst immigration clinic in Vancouver. When I worked with them last year, their doctor Dr. Kumar and their office employees (especially the arrogant Indian one) didn't do their jobs properly. They delayed my acceptance at least 6 months due to their poor work ethics and indifference to their clients' needs . Also, there was a female overweight employee who didn't know anything about the system and one of the rudest people ever. She literally hung up the phone on me because I asked why she didn't do her job. In the end, I ended up filing a written complaint about them to IRCC. They don't deserve even one star. I wish I could give them a big ZERO. Besides, they thank only people who rate them high here. No apology for their wrongdoings or no effort to better their service. Their welcome clinic should definitely be dropped from IRCC's list!

Really bad service, I did my medical exams here, and 1 year and a half later I got a letter from IRCC saying that they never sent my results to them. When I try to contact them to get information, the staff is rude and barely speaks English. I'm fully anxious at this point since the government gave me a 7 day deadline, and their clinic is not helping at all.

If you are a new immigrant to Canada from a non-English speaking country.If you want to improve your English quickly. I recommend you study English in ISS of BC. ISS of BC has a good service and the staff are all nice. They have highly qualified teachers, most of them come from British and North America countries and have perfect accents .Furthermore they provide child care services. They are supposing and caring and make each child fell welcome and safe.

Having received highly qualitative support from the Business Quest sector, I appreciate ISS of BC for providing entrepreneurs with such an excellent service.

I volunteered here for a couple of years as a host for new Canadians and had a great experience! The staff are very nice and genuinely want to help. It was great meeting New Canadians and helping them settle in their new home country!

Didn’t even get a chance to speak with anyone question on my first visit as the asian lady who was receptionist was super rude already laughing at me and giving me attitude for asking her basic questions. She seemed like she hated her job and anyone who would call her or ask her any questions. Terrible experience.

Issofbc is good service This center has given me a lot of help since I came to Canada 3 years ago. The staff are all nice, especially Jihan Jarrar. Her dealings with me was very comfortable. When I sit with her, I feel very comfortable and she helped me in everything I want until now. Thank you issofbc center and thank you Jihan for everything. really I had a great service

I highly recommend the services of ISS of BC and LINC preschool.Besides being highly qualified, the teachers of the preschool are amazing. They are guiding the kids with kindness and patience, offering them a safe place to play, learn and explore. Furthermore, they are supporting and caring, making each child feel welcome and safe. My son loved going there, and I always picked him up excited about his day. Having a safe place for my child to attend while I study English was significant support for my family.
