After working with other contractors and being frustrated by the lack of organization and communication, we found Ashton Renovations to renovate our main floor, including kitchen and living room. We chose them after speaking with Mark who provided a clear outline. We also appreciated that Ashton is a family run business and they advertise that they provide a clear and transparent process. Mark, Chris and the whole team were wonderful to work with. We began all of the planning through zoom meetings, since it was mid lockdown, and appreciated the 3D renderings of the plans as we went along. Mark was always responsive to our questions or concerns along a way. Our living room and kitchen is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Ashton Renovations and would choose them again for any renovation we have. They follow through and provide a clear and transparent process, as well as excellent, high quality work!

We worked with Mark and his team at Ashton Renovations on a total upgrade to our downtown condo. The project involved taking the walls down to the studs, raising the ceiling, adding a den and installing a stylish modern kitchen and bathroom. We started the project early in the COVID lockdown so things took longer than anticipated but Mark, Chris and the rest of the team were very professional in keeping us updated and adjusting the work plans to meet the various restrictions. We are absolutely delighted with the final product. Mark and his team has transformed our dream into reality. It’s beyond our expectations. We would definitely use them again!

I recently completed a master bathroom full renovation with Ashton Renovations and could not be happier with it! Mark, Chris and team were professional, courteous and experts in their fields. Everything was completed to the highest quality and the pride they all take in their work is evident. Communication was also good, getting the right balance of getting my input where needed/appropriate and just getting on with moving the job along. Unavoidable covid-related delays did result in the job taking a bit longer than originally thought, but Mark kept me updated and everyone did their best to expedite things. We had Ashton renovation complete an extensive kitchen and bathroom renovation on our 100 year old Toronto home. After considering several home renovation companies across the city, it was their thoughtful, organized and thorough design and build plan that sold us.The Ashton Renovation team was incredibly collaborative, professional, and responsive and they exceeded our every expectation. Our renovation included knocking out an exterior brick wall to create an open concept kitchen, enlarging and completely overhauling our upstairs bathroom, brand new plumbing and electrical, as well as updating our front entry and basement. Worked with Ashton Renovations over a year long process to fully renovated a large downtown condo kitchen and two bathrooms.During the process Ashton was always realistic with budgets and expectations. Ashton Renovations is a superb design-build service provider that nailed our ensuite bathroom reno. Ashton did a fantastic job of taking our inspiration and making it into the luxurious escape we wanted our primary bathroom to be. It was important for us to find a quality design-builder for our project as we didn’t have the time to project manage ourselves. Mark presented us different options that would allow flexibility in our budget. The 3D rendering of the design was super helpful for us to visualize the end-product. The demo team was fantastic, and I was amazed at how quickly and cleanly it was done. I recently had my main bathroom renovated by Ashton Renovations, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I spent a considerable amount of time searching for contractors who had expertise in proper bathroom waterproofing. In Canada, the building code doesn't require the installation of a waterproofing system, so it was crucial for me to find contractors who understood the importance of this aspect. While many contractors claimed they could handle waterproofing using products like Red Guard, Schluter, or Wedi, their images and responses to my inquiries revealed their lack of knowledge in the subject. These were contractors with high ratings on various websites, so it was quite disappointing.However, I contacted Schluter directly, seeking their advice, and they recommended three contractors from their database who had completed full certification in waterproofing training. Ashton Renovations was one of the recommended contractors. After reviewing their websites, examining their previous work, and conducting interviews, I decided to choose Ashton. I must mention that their quote was on the higher side compared to the others. But as they say, you get what you pay for. Mark, the owner of Ashton Renovations, follows the steps recommended by Schluter in Germany, which has the highest waterproofing requirements in the EU region.If you visit Ashton's website, you'll find images showcasing the waterproofing installation in all their bathroom renovations. In contrast, the other three contractors didn't provide such images on their websites and had to send them to me separately. The beauty and aesthetics of Ashton's bathrooms are undeniable. Mark's attention to detail and the superior craftsmanship ensure that the bathroom will last for years to come. The work he does behind the scenes is truly a work of art. Mark also provided valuable input on upgrades that would enhance the overall appeal of the bathroom. His taste matches my own, which tends to lean towards the more luxurious side. However, the extra expense, approximately $5,000 more than the others, was absolutely worth it. When people see the bathroom in person, they understand why I made that choice. The pictures simply don't do it justice. The materials, the execution of the installations, and the finishing details exude a sense of class.Here are the waterproofing steps taken by Ashton Renovations:Instead of drywall, Ashton used Kerdi-board with washers along with Cement board and Kerdi. This exceeded my expectations.They utilized modified thinset Schluter All-Set to apply the Schluter sheet membrane/Kerdi to the corners and seams, which offers better water resistance compared to unmodified thinset with Kerdi.Shower valves and pipes were waterproofed using Schluter Kerdi Mixing Valve seals (Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS and Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-MV).Schluter KERDI-FIX Sealing and Bonding Compound was used to join Kerdi with Cement board near the tub.Once the Schluter system dried, Laticrete Hydro Ban was applied on top of the Kerdi sheets and used for seams and corners. Hydro Ban, similar to Ardex 8+9, is what Schluter uses in the EU and provides 100% waterproofing.I would like to express my gratitude to all the tradespeople involved in this renovation. It took an additional two weeks to complete, but Mark ensured that each trade specialized in their respective tasks. It was not a one-man show.
