Thrifty Foods

A couple of reasons why I love this Thrifty and felt it was time to say something.I had an order from the deli for some deli trays for a party. When I showed up they informed me that a previous customer accidentally took my 4 trays along their own.With the party less then 2 hours away, this was a little distressing.What sets a store apart, for me, is not wether they DO everything right, but what the store does to MAKE things right.They acknowledged the error and immediately started to fix the issue by remaking my trays. 45 minutes later I had 4 four trays AND they only charged me for 3.In my option, this is another reason why I shop at Thrifty. I find the staff always go the extra mile.A second example. A few years ago, at another grocery store that will not be mentioned, I was looking for something and I asked 3 different workers, all of which told me “i dunno”. No attempt to find it, and no attempt to get someone that did know.This does not happen at Thrifty. They will bring you right to the product, and if they do not know where it is, they will find someone that does.This sets them apart every time. I love my Thrifty.

Lots of parking, decent selection of groceries. Owned by Sobeys so if your used to going to Sobeys (East Coast) this is your spot. I also like the selection of beef they have not just ground beef or steaks they also have organ meat as well heart and liver. Good selection of produce, and their birthday cakes are very good! They dont have air miles cards anymore they switched to a Scene card. Would recommend this grocery store.

Prices were fair (better than save-on), good availability, no major lineups and I saw some friendly faces. Not bad these days.

The prices for fruits and vegetables are insane although that is not necessarily their fault. The store is laid out in an understandable way and I always find what I'm looking for except when it comes to Japanese products. Your best bet for that is Sakura on Quadra or any Fairway Market.

Always fresh,new ideas,very clean store. Sushi galore, I enjoy shopping at all locations,for their vast selections...

This is not a review of the entire store, as I did not go through it all. I did, however, utilize their floral department. I was very impressed with the helpful, kind service. I was looking for a bouquet for around $20. I didn't see any, so she looked in the cooler for me, and there weren't any. She suggested she could create one for me from the smaller bunches. She gave some lovely recommendations on colours and flowers. She then arranged and wrapped them beautifully in paper and ribbon.No extra challenge for anything, and they turned out beautifully! I will definitely utilize this option again!

We bought fresh clams, and they looked after all preparation. Tastes great

Great small supermarket. Lots of choice and pleasant staff (which seems the norm in Canada)
