JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa

Great resort situated on a beautiful piece of land!We went as a family with young kids, and the heated indoor/outdoor pool was fantastic, given that the daytime temperature high was 21. Unfortunately, the other pools weren’t open yet for the season, including the splash pad, however the indoor/outdoor pool was never busy. We had the pool and hot tub for ourselves for an entire afternoon.The rooms themselves are clean and spacious. A 1 bedroom suite is perfect for a family. The large kitchen area is a huge bonus. We also saw that laundry is available free of charge for guests that may be staying for longer periods.We’ve stayed in a few of the luxury line of hotels, and the staff at this hotel were by far the most accommodating and friendly. The seagulls are crazy though!

In general, service has been great during our stay. Major exception being the front desk. Our reservation was completely messed up from the beginning to the end. We were overcharged with spa fee that was included in our booking.

This resort does not live up to the name of JW Marriott. I was a loyal customer to the Marriott chain and this is the first time I felt so disappointed. We booked a one bedroom suite and requested a crib in advance. When we arrived, the room was ready at around 1pm and we were excited. Only to find out later that the room was at the first floor and it smells moldy. The crib also was not there. We requested a new room and the hotel accommodated us. When we get to the other room, it was at the third floor and no more moldy smell. However the crib still not there. Despite reconfirming numerous time with the front desk, it took awhile before the house keeping finally send up the crib.Inside the room, many things are not up to standard. The coffee maker is just a regular cheap one. Hair dryer inside the bathroom is cracked. They used a big bottle of bath amenities, but they don’t have a space inside the shower to put them. It’s very awkward to have these big bottles. The bath water is green. We drew bath twice and the water still like that. They also don’t offer any bath salt so I guess they don’t expect people to take a bath at all. The shower is small, but still decent looking. Some part of the shower wasn’t finish well and you can see there are a lot of these details that the hotel is lacked of.Food is below average. It’s overpriced. It’s hard to find other options outside the resort so you are pretty much stuck there.The only saving grace is the staffs here are very nice and trying very hard to help. Unfortunately they seems very disorganized and confused.If you are coming here, I suggest you park at the front, check in first, get the room key and then move your luggage in. The main building and the second building are quite far from each other to walk, especially with luggages. We have our baby with us which makes it even harder to move around.Overall this is not a hotel that is worth over $550 a night. I do not recommend this at all.

My family stayed 3 nights in June 2023. The resort staff were fantastic. There were many family-friendly activities available and the days flew by. We had a great time and would recommend the resort to anyone who wants to experience the Muskoka area.

The only aspect that they exceed at is continually delivering a poor experience. This is at least my eighth year staying here and I vow never to come back each time but keep making the same mistake time and time again. In previous years it’s been the dining service that has been poor. This time, service at dinner was good and was a pleasant surprise. Food was also good. However it seems now it’s infrastructure. Internet TV not working. Hot tub not working. 1 of 2 showers by swimming pool out of order. Toilet lock not working by swimming pool. Despite a reservation for 4, no bedding for the sofa bed. The list continues and I won’t bore you with anymore.

Great 2.5 hour destination from the city to spend a short getaway! The resort is lovely with fantastic views! Service is top notch and they're always keen to make you happy. The heated pool is AMAZING. It was 22 degrees so we loved swimming in the heated pool as well as the hot tub which is big with a view.The deck is where you can have drinks, food by the pool is great with fantastic views. Teca is also an amazing Italian restaurant for a romantic dinner and kids are welcome. Resort is very kids friendly without being too loud or chaotic.A MASSIVE plus, is that there's free parking inside the resort only 2-3 minutes walk!Rooms are spacious but outdated.

Fantastic experience for a 2 day leadership retreat at The Rousseau. Wish I had more time to explore and enjoy the facilities but I did have the luxury of having a delicious dinner at the Muskoka Chophouse. The crab cakes and steak were top notch. You won’t be disappointed visiting this northern gem of a resort!

Stayed at this impressive resort for 3 nights. We had arrived earlier than planned due to lighter traffic. At check-in we were told that we could roam the resort and enjoy its many activities while our room was getting prepared. We got our beautiful one bedroom suite way earlier and they offered us a very cheap upgrade. The view is spectacular. Food and drinks are number one. Swimming pools and facilities were super clean. Staff very friendly and super professional. I would definitely have to go back there. Everything about JW Marriott is amazing. Highly recommend

Absolutely stunning property! Make sure to book a lake view room as the view is right to left LAKE! Restuanrts are good - expensive and limited menu- however cottages and the deck give other options if the finer dining isn’t your scene or you have young kids! This was our first adults vacation without our toddler in almost two years - however we would def bring our little one here as the activities are so many! The pool by the lake is super warm- prob 98 degrees - which was nice but you also had the option of the other pool by the lobby which was a more normal pool temperature!We had noisy neighbours our last night there and had to call down to the front desk but it was taken care of right away!We enjoyed ourselves so much we joined the bon voy rewards - and booked a trip to the jw marriot on camelback in late August! Can’t wait to check out that property!
