Love every Guu location. I enjoyed my meal so much I only took one photo which basically says all you need to know when an amateur food reviewer actually puts their phone down. So many different flavours and each dish is unique from the last, every dish executed so well.

It is a pretty good dine-in experience. The staff's energy is cheerful and bright. Overall, food is of a certain standard. But I believe there is still space to improve. Like fried rice, still a bit too wet. If they could serve deep-fried oysters with tartar sauce or ponzu, that would be perfect. Cause, in the end, I just feel too greasy.

A reasonable priced restaurant. We had a bottle of sake, sliced tomato with tofu, pumpkin croquettes, Chirashi, and yaki udon, and mochi, red bean, green tea ice cream. All were great and delicious. The service was fine and staff friendly. A busy place, do make reservations in advance if you can, especially if it’s a large group.

Oh my gosh yum! We went for a later dinner, arrived around 8, and the restaurant was busy and lively. We were seated at the bar and got to watch the amazing ingredients transform into a magic and beautiful dish in front of our eyes.The service was fast and attentive. The atmosphere energetic and playful.The food was prepared quickly and was delicious, flavorful, and presented in a beautiful manner.We got the special 3/$14 tofu appetizer, shishito peppers, and the fish cake tempura. Shrimp black fried rice, okonomiyaki, and the nametake meguro. It was all so delicious and a bit more than we could eat, but happy to take the leftovers home.The staff kept us smiling thought the meal and the chefs were fun to watch in action!I would definitely come here again and really loved the energy and vibe of the restaurant.

It has been a long while since my last visit Guu Original at Thurlow. Simple menu with delectable choices. The flesh of the grilled saba fish was a bit on the harder side. Good value for the set at $13.80. Very pleasant dinning experience.

Friendly efficient service, everything was tasty and timely and good value. I enjoyed the agedashi tofu and brussel sprouts particularly. Dessert was good too! Yuzu cheesecake with green tea ice cream. Yum. Only slight is that the bathroom could benefit from some investment.

1. Wonderful place to spend an evening2. Varieties of Japanese cuisine3. We had octopus, fish items, beer etc4. Hot and happening place5. Recommended for Japanese cuisine (don't expect Sushi, they don't have any)

I ordered various meals, beer, sake and also desserts, everything was tasty. Also atmosphere was great too. Just one thing the service was,, just fine compare to their reputation in Robson area. Overall , All was satisfying

Probably the best restaurant experience I've had in a while. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious but I particularly reccomend the kimchi udon, deep fried fish cakes, smoked salmon with onions, and unagi over rice. The atmosphere in the restaurant was on point and the service was very accommodating.
