Limelight Karaoke Bar @ The Riverside
I attended a private event downstairs, and it was very fun! There’s a huge selection of karaoke songs, and the stage and lighting really makes it feel like a fun show.There were drink specials, and the staff were really nice. There’s also a pool table for those less interested in picking up the mic.

The bartenders were nice in my experience, but the music was extremely loud and karaoke list for going up was so long. You could wait an hour or more to go up.

The Limelight Karaoke Bar is not bad, but the karaoke experience they attempt to provide is not the best.The Karaoke bar is located at the bottom of a staircase in a basement style space. Once you reach the bottom of those steps the attendant checking you in will charge you 5 dollars to enter (which is a reasonable price) and a dollar to check in your jacket or coat. This is not optional, they will force you to pay a dollar to check in your jacket, coat, or anything you’d use to stay warm. This rubbed me the wrong way because it felt like it was just a way to fleece customers for a dollar, especially because we’re in Winnipeg and everyone is wearing jackets/coats 9/12 months in a year.The actual Karaoke experience was very mid. When you go to sign yourself or your friends up, it takes about 30 minutes before your turn comes up, sometimes even more (45mins+). Other people at the bar who showed up earlier than you will sign up for 5 or 6 songs back to back, and you just end up watching other people have fun for an hour waiting for your turn. There definitely could be a better system for signing up and having limits for doing it too often to give others a chance.The seats were decently comfortable, the drinks are alright (according to my friends) if you care about that kind of thing.The overall experience was just okay. It’s not the best but not the worst and if you like karaoke you’ll have an alright experience here. If you aren’t too keen on this kind of thing you’ll not like this establishment. I’m very indifferent towards karaoke and I didn’t enjoy myself that much but it was a friends birthday so I put on a smile.

If you’re looking for karaoke this is the last place to ever go! The DJ will bump whoever has the most crowd pleasing song to the top and ignore everyone else, we put our song in and waited 3 hours only to learn that! What a joke! Go anywhere else for Karaoke and to also find a bartender that isn’t wasted and skimping you on alcohol. If I could give less than one star I would

Pretty fun time! Went for erotic bingo, stuck around for karaoke. Did not sing, if youre bad stay tf off stage, this is a place for people who can. I am not gatekeeping im not looking down, i cant sing. The crowd wont be cruel at least. But dang, it sucks your soul out to hear amazing singer, yourself with no claps, then a good singer. If you dont care, giver! No one will stop you.

The wait to sing was two hours. Worst karaoke because no one knows how to sing. Off pitch for real. They didn’t let my friend in and also wouldn’t let me leave. They made me chug my beer which made me beer drunk. Sick to my stomach. Vomit. Will not return.

The screen is way to high to see words, feels like I am staring into space while singing. If you are tall, the lights get in the way of your first verse. No whiteboard, Same drunk guy sang like every 3 songs. Whiteboard is key in this business. They gotta lower that Screen. I don't know what they were thinking putting it up so high. Have to bend my knees and lean in to see screen. Ruined whole singing experience. Anybody who is tall will have a rough time singing here.

Came here for a birthday party with a lot of friends expecting a good time. Extremely dissatisfied. Bartenders were very wonderful and on point however the karaoke DJ needs to be replaced immediately. As my table had spent well over $300 on a tab in the course of the evening. we were there for approximately 4 hours and all put 1 song up with the DJ. Most of our songs were either bumped or literally taken over by another patron at the bar. When you have a friend angrily go wait a minute that's my song they're singing!!" You cut your losses and don't return. This is a very strategic way for not having return business."

We were actually upstairs at Riverside bar. Lots of fun playing pool.We went to Limelight but we are just a weeee bit to old for the Karaoke bar.... sucks getting old. Everyone there was having a blast
