Heritage Glen Public School

Dear ParentsI am a former student who went to this school. I advise anyone who is reading this message to NOT send your children here ever. I do not want to elaborate on the details because I would turn emotional and not critical, but please trust me, do not send your children here. The school is very dysfunctional, the front office seems to be more concerned with scooping over the left over pizza from pizza day then to actually care for children and our wellbeing. When an issue is brought up, the teacher's immediate response is to send the children to the principal's office, rather then dealing with it. Then the kids are usually made to wait for 30 minutes for the principle while they casually chat with the other staff about their suntan. In general, it feels like no one cares about the children, and is just there to do time. The good news is that the worst educational assistants I've met have now left, but some of the staff, especially in the higher grades, are quite incompetent and generally impatient. I am now going to one of the best university programs in the country. I love my secondary school, but Heritage Glen and the treatment I've received here have forever left a bad taste in my mouth. It has been 3-5 years since I left, so I hope some things have changed. but if things were the same as I went there, I would rather my child be homeschooled then come to this school.

Good place for education

Below average school. Quite a few teachers produce an impression of being more concerned about not doing anything outside rules and regulations rather than of being genuinely interested in children’s development and success.

the teacher's was not very friendly and helpful bc they kicked me out of the school and they did not tell me why they kicked me out

ive never had the pure honor to come to this pUBLIC sCHOOL but i sure would recommend it for my son because he has the people skills to create obama outta thin air, i hope he makes great friends like jeremy rogers the big boy

African" is a language? Not likely. I think they meant Afrikaans (spoken in South Africa).Walked past the school on my way to coaching a soccer game on their field and saw this. I never went to this school (so giving it a neutral rating) but goodness gracious

This was my elementary school years ago, I spent 9 years here and it was a good experience. The teachers were great and the play ground/ recess area was fantastic.

This school is the definition of kindness. Went here for 8 years. Very strict technology rules though.

School overall is fine, but the staff is majorly racist including student's, student's have confronted them about racist events, and from what i heard a student was called down to the office and told to keep quiet, a majorly racist student that goes here has said the n word (a derogatory term) multiple times, following this nothing was done and the boy was simply ignored.Remember that the internet influences the young, but so do there parents so the problem is either parent's or what the kids are looking at online, either way this need's to be addressed, thank you.
