Eyelab, Doctors of Optometry

I’d highly recommend Eyelab and seeing Dr. Sherman Tung. The reception staff was very pleasant and friendly. The eye screening procedures and testing were thorough. Dr. Tung and his team were professional. I felt very well taken care of and comfortable, not pressured nor rushed and Dr. Tung spent a great deal of time giving me tips to take care of my eyes moving forward. Amazing experience all around and would definitely be coming back again!

The best eye visit I have ever had. I wear glasses since age 6, and now that I am 37 I have finally found a very knowledgeable and patient doctor, Doctor Sherman Tung. The visit consists of some tests done by some very advanced and high tech equipment and then a visit with the doctor. I have a very high prescription and the doctor analyzed accurately the results from the tests and had me do a series of other tests. He had a lot of empathy for my concerns and didn't underestimate them. He explained to me in detail and with patience the current health of my eye, and the risk factors I have. I highly recommend this clinic, especially for people with very high prescription that are still looking for a doctor that can meet their expectations.

Dr. Xiao was great. What an amazing experience it was wearing contacts for the first time. She updated my prescription and it was a big improvement. She also let me take home a few different samples or contacts so i could make sure I get the right one. My wife also had a great experience. Thanks!

I had a major traumatic brain injury in 2014. I have had difficulty with reading literature ever since then. My eyes would skip words and lines when they got tired which was usually around 5-10 minutes. I have been devastated with the loss of reading as it was a big part of enjoying life.I went to check in on the health of my eyes and it was then that Dr. Sherman Tung suggested that I consider vision therapy. I am now 6 sessions in with Dr. Melody Tong and am wondering why I didn't start earlier! It has been eye opening to learn more about the different functions of how an eye works with and correlates with the brain. I am very happy with the service as they communicate reminders with me the way that works for me.I know the clinic shut down for several weeks due to COVID-19 but even then, staff has continued to check on my progress and my rehab. I have just started vision therapy again and they have implemented many safety measures for clients and staff. I am grateful for the dedication of the team, the eye exercises and look forward to my next session!

I don't really have time to write reviews, but when it's good, I stop and make the time. Dr. Melody Tong and their Optician Jessica helped me out so much, and unexpectedly so, that I really just want to rant and rave about my experience.For starters, Dr. Tong is good with kids, as she was patient and adaptive when checking my little toddlers eyes. Kids don't always patiently sit and follow instructions but Dr. Tong got it all done!Seeing the patient and thorough exam procedure reminded me that I hadn't had an eye exam in a while so I got mine done a few weeks later and was not surprised by how good my own experience was. As I get older, my eyes are changing, and Dr. Tong patiently explained where my prescription changes arose from, and what to watch out for when filling out my prescription.I had the choice to fill out my prescription here at Eyelab with Jessica, but I work from home and rushed back to take my next meetings. As such, I filled out my prescription with an online place (not Eyelab) and when the glasses came, I put them on and was incredibly worried that I had filled out my prescription wrong. Before heading out on vacation a day later, I stopped by Eyelab and Jessica met with me and my online glasses. I explained how my vision was blurry and disorienting and maybe did my online prescription order wrong. After some testing, she patiently and helpfully explained the kind of lenses that I had bought were Media Lenses (not simple Progressives) which would confine their use to just the office desk, and nowhere else. She also assured me that it would be fine with a few adjustments and even helped fit them for me. Throughout it all, I reminded her that I hadn't bought the glasses with Eyelab but she still insisted on making sure I was OK.I'm wearing my glasses now and I'm feeling super relieved and confident that these new glasses are going to work out OK! I promised next time to book extra time after my visit with Dr Tong to ensure I'd get my next prescription filled out at Eyelab with Jessica... there is so much more to buying glasses than I had anticipated and I'm so glad they went above and beyond for me.

Dr. Tung is efficient and personable. Eyelab’s facility has been the nicest i’ve been to in Vancouver.

As someone who values both aesthetics and quality in my healthcare, I had high hopes upon entering this optometrist’s office, as it has been pristinely renovated. The ambiance emanated modernity, but unfortunately, I soon discovered that this was just a façade, an alluring veneer hiding what can only be described as a lamentable and disconcerting experience.Let me be crystal clear: the service provided was appallingly substandard. The place seems to have an unrelenting focus on its commercial interests, rather than the well-being of the patients. One would expect an optometrist's office to be the epitome of professionalism and evidence-based practice, but alas, this is not the case here. Instead, they seem to dabble in what can only be described as arcane 'naturopathic' concoctions that have no grounding in scientific research or empirical evidence.What is even more unsettling is the cavalier manner in which the optometrists refers to themselves as doctors". This is not only misleading but arguably disingenuous. While optometrists are doctors in the sense of being doctors of optometry

We had a great experience at Eyelab. Knowing that Dr. Tung is one of the leading Optometrist on child Myopia treatment in Vancouver, we reached out to him looking for Myopia treatment solutions to our little daughter. With the help of high-tech equipments, Dr.Tung identified her eye-sight issues and proposed different solutions. We then chose the OK Lenses for her. Dr. Tung has been very patient and well-explained to my daughter the procedures of wearing the lenses. And he was very responsive to answer my email questions on a late Saturday night. Thanks to the custom-made OK lenses design by Dr.Tung, we are glad to see my daughter's eye-sight has improved a lot after wearing them just a week. We highly recommend Eyelab and Dr. Sherman Tung to those seeking for Myopia treatment in Vancouver!

I have been to many different optometrists and specialists for eye care over the last 10 years. EyeLab is by far the most professional and advanced clinic I have been to. All of their equipment is state of the art. The best thing about this clinic is their passionate and devoted staff. Dr. Tung is an exceptional optometrist and his passion for patient care is definitely reflected in his staff. Their attention to detail has enabled me to get the highest quality care and allowed me to get referrals to the specialists' I needed to see. They take their time to ensure that all patients understand their examination and the recommendations provided.I have already recommended this clinic to my friends and family and I am thankful to be cared for by such a hardworking team.
