Sixt Car Rental - Shannon Airport

I had a great experience at Sixt in Shannon airport. The car was ready, it was just perfect, the agent Rob was gracious and helpful, and so considerate of my need for a coffee before signing out the car and heading out into the dark, rainy Irish morning (driving on the left hand side of course) after a transatlantic flight! Will for sure go with Sixt again for my next rental. Thank you!

I rarely do reviews but with this car hire experience I just have to. Everything from booking the car on line, picking and dropping the car back was just exceptional and all done by kind staff at Shannon. I will only use this company from now onwards

The Sixt agent greeted me by name as I walked up to the conveniently located rental counter in the Shannon Airport. He explained all of the options available, without being pushy. The car I was given was better than the one I reserved, and I was very happy with the agent’s description of the existing issues with the car (a paint ding or two and a broken mirror that they hadn’t had time to fix yet). All of the deficiencies were reflected in the rental contract. Significantly, the interior glass of the car (like the rest of the vehicle) was perfectly clean, which makes a huge difference in visibility and peace of mind when driving in the rain and driving at night. I’ve rented other cars with interior glass that appeared as if it had never been cleaned, and it can make driving - especially on the opposite side of the road, with jet lag - much more harrowing than it needs to be. Return of the car was excellent as well. I walked up to a pleasant fellow who took the keys and asked if everything was okay with the car. Took less than 30 seconds. Couldn’t be easier. My rental experience in Shannon was consistent with my other rentals from Sixt. I will definitely rent from Sixt in Shannon next time I’m there, and will always try to rent from Sixt when possible.

I had a small frustration with the pickup process regarding insurance coverage via my credit card company, but everyone working at the Shannon Sixt pickup desk was helpful and friendly. When I reported my frustrations to the company via the survey after I returned my rental, I got a prompt response from both customer service and the local manager, and was quite pleasantly surprised by how well they communicated. My rental was clean and in good shape, and the price was better than anything else I could find in the area. I would definitely rent from Sixt again in the future.

It was our first time using Sixt car rental, and we were very disappointed. First, the check-in took a long time because there was a system issue. After we got the car, we drove for around 20 minutes and a Check Brake System" alert appeared on the car's dashboard. We were concerned and called Roadside Assistance. The quickest option was to drive back to Shannon airport to get a new car.This incident wasted 1 hour of our time when we were on a tight schedule to see nearby attractions

In the current context of ridiculously high daily rates for car hire in Ireland, Sixt provided a reasonably accessible price (50% of price quoted by the majors"). I would echo other reviews about the convenience of being able to pick-up the car

I have rented many cars in the past and Sixt was easiest I have dealt with. The agent, Mr Quinn welcomed me and explained my options and was very honest with me. I had the same agent on my return and he made the return just as easy. The facility was clean, the car was clean and the staff was outstanding. I will be using Sixt again.

Great experience. They are right in the arrivals terminal. Car was just outside across the road. It was easy and the representative was friendly and helpful. The only thing that was confusing was the return. We were not told that the car needed to be dropped in short term parking. We followed the signs for car rental return only to be told we had to go to short term parking. Felt a little uncomfortable not having someone check everything before we just dropped the keys to the counter in arrivals. Everything turned out fine, correct charges on card no issues. Would use them again.

It was very easy to rent a car here. The airport is small and the cars are parked right outside. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. I extended the car and the phone support and customer service was also good. I returned the car in Dublin. If you do this, the drop off is in the parking garage by the airport. I didn’t see signs for it until we got to the correct entrance, which listed rental car returns. You push a button to open the gate to enter the structure. Renting and returning in Shannon is much easier.
