University of Alberta - Hotel

I really want to give this place 4 or 5 stars. But there are some problems. the WiFi is just the u of Alberta's public guest wifi and it is terrible. The hotels rooms are so far inside a dorm/jim/convention center they are hard to find. You have to unlock layers of secure doors yourself The front desk is hard to find. They have almost no signage to help. They are pleasant at the desk, but do not know some things that must be common questions. Most important the campus of u if a is as expensive to park in as downtown New York, and no discount for guests. If you have a car, leave it at your off campus hotel near the train, or use Uber. If you pay for parking here the hotel is much to expensive.

Good place for budget accommodations. The dorm rooms are decent enough. The connectivity with the city is great. The restaurant is decent and the staff is extremely friendly. Has a variety of amenities (gymnasium, piano rooms, etc.)

Room was clean and neat. Showers and sink worked well and amenities was provided (soap, shower cap, sewing it). Minor issue was that the room was a bit dim without turning on the lamps as the ceiling light was a bit dim. Not a big deal though.

Stayed here over the weekend and we couldn't believe how big the rooms were. There were two double beds, a couch, dresser with a tv, closet, desk, night stands at each bed and a mini fridge. And of course a washroom. There was so much room it was amazing. Price was half the price of a regular hotel and it was so quiet. Not sure how busy the hotel was, but we didn't hear anything. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall, a nice place to stay. Room is spacious. Lister dining hall is connected. The campus has a great atmosphere. There are minor improvements that are needed. The bathroom floor has hair. Some of the pillow cases are ripped.

Rooms are small but the price is right. Great location for anyone who's visiting someone at the hospital or Cross Cancer Clinic.The main lobby can get over run with rambunctious students. My mother in law was almost run off her feet twice by large crowds that came by chasing and shoving each when we were checking in at 10pm.Rooms are small but clean. Can be loud and very busy if events going on.

I enjoyed staying on campus -- it's a beautiful area and very close to everything we needed. Our room was very comfortable (and quiet) and the provided toiletries were fantastic (the Centre's attention to detail in this small part of our experience shows a level of respect for their guests). The only thing I would have liked made clearer would be the hours for close food services. I didn't realize that the Booster Juice in the Marina on the ground floor opened later than the other kiosks, and trying to find breakfast at 6:30 on Saturdays and Sundays can be a bit of a challenge. However, we'll likely stay here again when we need to be in Edmonton, and I have recommended it to others.
