We try to visit Holocaust museums in every city we travel to. NY and Washington DC are far and away the best. Montreal has an enormous Jewish community with many Holocaust survivors. This museum, although small, gave a really personal view of the life of Jews during that horrific decade. The iPad tour was incredibly concise and packed with information. A 'must see.'

Don't come here in a rush, the story needs time to be told.. There are two levels and you might want to spend a bit more time on a second, although it has a very sad atmosphere.Great thing is: it is open until 21:00, when all other museums are long closed, so you can come here in the evening taking a metro and walking a couple of minutes from the station. I would suggest to spend 2 hours in this place, there is a lot to see, hear, read.. and then maybe just sit a bit and absorb.

This is the best place to learn about Jewish history, culture and specially the inhuman behaviour that Jewish people faced during Hitler years. I came to know why Jewish elderly people don’t wanna take shower in the bathroom. I learned why peoples in Jewish culture seems so religious to wash their hands before and after meal. I strongly recommend this museum to visit for anyone interested to know everything about the Jewish.

It is a small museum worth visiting. Additionally, there is an app you can download to get more information of the items on display and the history. The app works fine in apple products, but it has to be updated in Android as it is in an older version that cannot be downloaded by newer Android products. Despite that, the app is not needed to visit the museum, it is just an additional part that adds to the experience.

Small museum inside the Jewish library in Montréal. Very interesting exhibits. If you happen to go on a Sunday, it's free and you might see a survivor, that will explain what happened to him.

Note: The Museum is closed on Saturday, because is Sabatt! It was a great learning experience. The video interviews gave it a human perspective. I learned that the Warsaw Ghetto was one of many ghettos all over Europe. So many people died from hunger and sickness. I gain a new understanding about the suffering of those brave people. Also, about how evil was the Third Reich.
