We had Ben work on our kitchen renovation; his attention to detail was flawless and his skill at ensuring our renovation did not look like a renovation was first rate. He was able to create an archway where a wall was removed to perfectly replicate the rest of the arches in our 1950 house. He then did gorgeous wainscoting and shaker trim that set the entire project off perfectly. The following year we had Ben and Vanessa design a new deck. It is more than a deck, its the focal feature of our yard! Ben matched trim of the glass panels to our eaves (which I had never even noticed) making it all tie together perfectly. Don't be fooled by their youth - they have integrity, honestly and a work ethic we have never encountered when doing this kind of work with contractors. These two have a bright future - no hesitation in recommending and in fact, if you don't hire them it is your loss! They are first class on every level.

We hired Lloyd Maltby Design in late 2018 for a major remodel of the condo that we had just bought. Working with Vanessa was amazing - she helped us every step of the way, from major decisions such as the overall design and look of our kitchen (it was a gut-and-redo) that included a whisky display and a desk overlooking the water, to little things like our closet door handles. My husband and I sometimes had differing tastes on what we wanted, but she worked tirelessly to find us options that we both loved. She worked well with our contractor, sharing ideas and thoughts for all those little things that come up with a big job like this one. We can't say enough about how amazing it was to work with Vanessa and Ben at Lloyd Maltby. We really needed a contractor who was not only professional but who could stick to a set budget and one that did not need a lot of oversight as we live in Vancouver. Vanessa and Ben provided us with several layout ideas, costings and timeline. Once we decided on the plan, they custom designed and built the all kitchen’s cabinetry to fit perfectly into the space. Additionally they built a custom stair railing - styled to match the home. They also coordinated all the sub trades required to complete the project. Due to our busy schedules, we did not make a site visit until AFTER the project was completed. We had seen photos at different stages of construction but we were completely blown away by the finished product. Not only was the work first class, it came in on budget and on time. Vanessa managed all the details and made great design suggestions while Ben ensured that the quality was present in the work. We would not hesitate to recommend Vanessa and Ben, and should we need additional work done in the future, they will be the first call we make.
