The best kept secret in the city. Beautiful cottages grounds, barbecues and learning to sail a fleet of small boats for less than $500/yr.

Toronto Island Sailing Club
I learned to sail at TISC 30 years ago and I am still there. This February (2017) I skippered a big boat sailing trip from Antigua to Guadeloupe and back. Learning to sail at TISC let's you take sailing and the friends you meet there to a level you would not imagine. Come and join us, sail as far as want :-)

I called for details on the sailing classes. The lady was not helpful but rather rude. I advised that I'm calling not for now as she mentioned it was no longer summer. I ask her for prices in which she states I should go online. I advised her I'm on line but do not see the prices. She states she does not have the information to give. To my knowledge if you work for an establishment that provides lesson would you not have this information. I do not understand, even if you do not have it why not be pleasant and courteous about it. The lady had no customer service skills at all. Well I'll be calling elsewhere.

This sailing club has HOT SHOWERS and a washroom! That's a deal for me. Besides, it is on the island, making me feel I leave Toronto and its worries behind. I discovered TISC two years ago, and now, I look forward to the sailing season with so much joy and enthusiasm!

Very fun club - dinghy and catamaran sailing, barbecues, regular island time, hammocks, amazing views of downtown across the water, interesting and diverse crowd. Completely volunteer driven which keeps it affordable. Limited membership though and it fills up every year.

Toronto Island Sailing Club
Great sail club - If you weren't gazing at the great view of downtown Toronto across the water, you'd think you're in cottage country. Members have use of the club's dinghys and catamaran and have access to sailing courses. The club is very social with members staying for a BBQ and an adult beverage after sailing. Membership is limited and does sell out so recommend joining early.

Endlessly good times on Toronto Island, and that's even before you start sailing! Best decision even to join this club! I learned to sail and met a whole bunch of amazing people.
