Margaret’s Hair Salon

I dropped by this charming and very clean hair salon as I was walking by and was able to get a consultation right away. I spoke with the owner Margaret about fixing a colour problem from another salon down the street. She took her time to carefully explain the process of how to remove and fix the brass out of my hair which was bleached too quickly and not toned properly, leaving me with an obvious obnoxious orange tone. The previous salon I went to also ruined my texture with their harsh bleach and completely missed the mark on giving me a caramel sun-kissed summer look. I came back to Margaret's the next day for my repair appointment and left with the biggest smile on my face. Not only did she do fantastic work colour correcting the botched other job, but my hair felt silky soft on top of it. Great value for the colour, conditioning treatment and blow out. I've come to love this welcoming salon and would highly recommend you trying.

I have lived in the east end for 10 years. Have never found a salon I was satisfied with. I recently went to Margaret's Hair Salon - what an amazing hair transformation experience. This will forever be my go to. Fair prices, darling customer service, and exceptional hair artists. So happy I found this hidden gem <3

My favourite hair salon. Have been going here about 8 years or so. Very clean place. Stylists, mom and daughter are great ! Reema always gives me what I want and provides her opinion as well. Have never been dissatisfied.... Location is very convenient as the subway is nearby and bus stop steps away from the hair salon.....

I've been going to this salon for the past two years at my wife and daughter's recommendation. They always look and feel their best. Margaret and Reema are wonderful stylists. The salon is always clean and impeccable and they treat me and the clients I have become familiar with, with respect and class. I have always been impressed with their attentiveness and great style! Prices are fair and the customer service is outstanding. This salon is a hidden gem.

My FAVE salon in East York! Reema is awesome. I have coarse dark hair and have always wanted to get a trendy root melt with caramel balayage. I showed her some pictures and she NAILED IT! This photo is from eight weeks ago, washed every other day and the colour is still looking fresh and seamless. I get so many compliments. My hair is very manageable and healthy despite bleaching it thanks to the products and technique used. I follow a home care routine for my hair type and service and avoid drug store products. I've never been able to find someone who understands my hair type and how to lighten my very dark hair to a creamy dark blonde ombre WITHOUT it looking orange. I'm thrilled I found this salon. Reema is really passionate about hair and she took her time to listen to exactly what I wanted and made suggestions that are appropriate for my hair type and goals. Thank you for my new do Reema!

Terrible experience - 2nd degree chemical burn and now I’m left with scarring to my face and scalp. (Pictures on my profile if you press my name)I had a relaxer treatment done here and informed Reema multiples times that skin was hurting and burning during the procedure. She brushed it off every time by saying “that means the chemicals are working”. She was aware that I was pregnant and informed me that this was a gentle chemical that cannot cause burns to skin or hair because it stops activating after 15 minutes. After the treatment, my skin was in pain with oozing blisters and scabs, I lost a bunch of hair at my hairline and my hair wasn’t even relaxed. I now have scarring all over.I went in two times to show them the burn, and ask for an apology and refund. Reema and Margaret refused to take accountability and told me it was my fault for having sensitive skin. After I reviewed them online, they finally decided to call, “apologize” and offer a refund (1 week post treatment). I’d give 0 stars if I could.

(Editing my review after their response)That response is extremely disappointing to read and further validates my one star review. The way you respond to upset customers is horrible. Instead of responding with defensiveness, try and respond with curiosity and how to solve the issue at hand. This will go a long way in de-escalating issues vs making things worse. The next time you have an upset / disappointed customer, train your staff to respond with empathy, kindness and ownership. It will go a long way to making things right by them.(My first review)Don’t treat their customers well.

So I had a few bad haircuts since moving from another city and decided to stop in here to try them out.Both Reema and Margaret are fantastic. I have been coming here ever since then and have always left very happy. Very clean, and well run business.
