My partner and I recently worked with Carlie to sell our first house and purchase our forever home, and we have nothing but positive things to say about our experience! Carlie is incredibly knowledgeable about both real estate and the geographical area in which she works. She taught us things about our hometown that we didn’t know. She thoroughly explained all of the intricacies associated with both buying and selling. We never felt like any of our questions or concerns were “stupid” when working with her. Carlie was so supportive, especially during the height of the real estate boom when buying was very challenging. At no point did we feel like we were just another “sale”; it really felt like Carlie understood our needs and truly cared for us throughout this process. One of the most eye opening moments in our work together was when we were putting together our final offer and Carlie made several very insightful suggestions about what to include in the contract, things like not removing window boxes because it could damage the exterior of the house, or requiring the seller to inform us if there had ever been skylight leaks or other water damage/leaks/issues/plumbing concerns. Let me tell you, we did not get this type of property-specific advice with our first realtor and it was empowering to see that even in a highly competitive market, we could advocate for our needs. Carlie also did such a great job helping us look past spacious and nicely decorated interiors and examining the bones and overall structure of the house - again, a level of support that we hadn’t previously received when we purchased our first home. Carlie is very responsive and speedy in her replies. She is able to set and keep both appointments and agreed upon timelines, which felt imperative in such a fast moving, competitive market. My partner and I truly love our new house that Carlie helped us get. We hope to stay for many years; however, if our situation changes and we are back in the real estate market, we will without a doubt be calling Carlie Smith with Royal LePage Realty.
