Welland Recreational Canal

Love strolling along the canal! So does my puppy. Nice community feeling, almost everyone say hi, smile ,comment on the weather.So good to have!Convenient for wheel chairs or strollers, bicycles any thing with wheels!

Really like everything going on here :) nicely decorated. I love the view and perfect for running/Exercising. Really is a beautiful place if you ask me :). Welland really is beautiful. I love just watching everything go by while listening to my music and running. I would totally recommend this place.

Great paved path for walking or biking, right along the canal, has some dirt side paths, some of them flood out easily so be safe if leaving the pavement

Favorite paved trail to walk, bike or run! Goes from Thorold to Port Colborne. I'll paddle it too! Lengthy, interesting and fun. It's great for all seasons, though it's never cleared in winter so can become icy.

Welland is gonna clear cut the west side of the canal for a big residential development - and some retail and commercial space. Oh it'll be connected somehow to Seaway Mall....super idea, except it's at least half empty. Shouldn't that be filled up before building more useless retail space? There will be a pedestrian bridge across the canal....so be careful if you're out paddling - it'll be a perfect spot for degenerates to drop stuff on you.Of course local roads are narrow and crumbling, and nothing will be done about that.But the city will get a whopping $500k over ten years from the developer! Whoo hoo. That'll definitely cover all the future maintenance costs and make up for increased traffic, destruction of nature and probably pollution of the canal.Looking forward to the inevitable complaints about displaced coyotes in residential neighbourhoods.Thought there was some committee supposed to protect the canal area, but I guess not.If you're thinking of moving to Niagara for the natural beauty...hahahaha they've cut all that down.

Absolutely the best bike trail ever! Nice, wide asphalt trail, with few intersections so you can really move! People are very friendly along the long trail - always saying hello. I've bike in many places in the world and this is one of best yet. The scenery with the ships is quite spectacular too.

Nice park, nice playground.. washrooms and a nice scenic bike path. Run this two times and loved it.

Amazing trail, but manynof the parts has no trees so we were biking with not much protection from the sun. Other than that it is pretty good lake to lake trail. We enjoyed it!
