Very educative museum of the local history and developments.Worth for all ages!Very thoughtfully conceived and professionally laid out.One gets the feeling of being in a historic village. The special events will also demonstrate the real village activities. Also, the elaborate displays of farming, car, transportation developments are very impressive.Special events place, coffee shop and the gift shop are available.Plenty of parking available at the site.

Make sure to keep at least 4 hours on hand if you wanna to fully explore the place. Gives you a history run through how people who moved to Saskatchewan in the early days. And how they survived.

Neat little place. Lots of historical sites to see. I love how it looks. The prison is cool, you can sit in there and make it look like you got arrested. It shows things from 1905+. It's definitely a site to see. There is a small Cafe too. I didn't check out the Cafe, but everything else was very neat.

Great museum, with push carts available for smaller kids. We enjoyed the interactive exhibits, with the combine cab, Bennett Buggy, antique car, and loved the model trains. Lots of activities for kids and informative boards on the machinery and stories were available.

It was such a pleasure to provide technology here for a fundraising event that we sponsored as a charitable vendor for Autism Services! The staff were very nice, the electrical of the place is good quality and well-labeled, the food was delicious (one meal pictured), and the loading access to the building was very accessible and made it easy for us to accomplish the logistical aspects of the event. I was also very glad that I came to the museum to do a reconnaissance earlier in the day, as I got to check out some of the brilliantly informative and vivid exhibits. I learned a tremendous amount, and it inspired me to do further reading on the history that is highlighted in this venue. Thanks so much for having us, hope to come back again some day!

This museum is amazing. I’m from Calgary and go to Heritage Park regularly so I wasn’t sure if this would be worth it. It was. The interactive Beyond Racism exhibit needs to be a travelling one to every high school and work seminar! Displays were extremely detailed and thought out. I learned a lot about Saskatchewan. Thank you

The WDM was well worth it. We went too late in the day to enjoy it all. Did not realize how massive it was and couldn't finish it all. We were told we could come back the next day and use our pass to continue. Lots of information!

Amazing museum for the history buff and transportation lover, which alone made me feel like the trip from Toronto was worth it! I didn’t know much going in and was expecting it to be your normal history museum with artefacts and explanations, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Upon entering, you would see a meticulously re-created Western boomtown with two rows of shops/stores, each of a different type, almost all of which you could enter and explore. I was in awe at the intricacy of the design and layout of each store – they are brimming with period goods and yet so well organized. There is even a building where you could walk up to the second floor and explore its interior! (And the balcony has a great view of the boomtown exhibit.) There are also two rows of vehicles to add to the period feeling. I really felt like I was in a period movie, transported back in time.If that isn’t enough to immerse yourself in, there is another amazingly designed and incredibly interactive exhibit that takes you through 19th and 20th-century Saskatchewan, an exhibit specifically on automobile development and innovations in the province, a fascination model train set (with an entire model town and surrounding landscape), an exhibition hall of farm machinery, and a locomotive where you could sit in the operator’s room…All in all, it was just an amazing visit. I spent 2.5 hours there and it felt rushed. I could have easily spent double that amount of time to take everything in.I was also amazed at how sparse the museum was in terms of visitors, despite my visit being (coincidentally) on a free admission day. Truly, the city should conduct more promotions for this museum, and more people, locals and visitors alike, should go and visit!

Spent a whole afternoon at the museum and it was a great time! First we went to the Boomtown Cafe. It took awhile for them to seat us even though there were open tables but the staff were nice about it. Food is really simple but good. The service was really fast the prices are amazing for what you’re getting! Highly recommend. As for the museum, it’s quite interesting and cool to see all the different displays. I was surprised how much time we actually spent in there walking around. Also nice to see some changes since the last time I’ve visited that are more respectful towards Indigenous people as well which is super important. I think the museum can build even more on what they’ve done for reconciliation but that’s just my opinion. Definitely a must do if visiting Saskatoon!
