Wine Country Cooking School

We completed our fourth class since 2017.Jane provides great hands on teaching while the students prepare and later eat a 3 course meal, all paired with excellent Strewn wine.These classes are perfect for couples, friends and all food lovers! Cooking experience is not required….just the ability to have fun.

We recently completed a Wine Country Cooking School class for my mother's 60th Birthday -- a wonderful experience! Jane planned a delicious meal for us all to cook with varying degrees of difficulty in the technical skills. Since my parents had visited before, Jane took the time to ensure no repeat recipes were made. She chose fresh and local ingredients. We all ate as a group, sharing stories and laughs. The wine pairings from Strewn Winery added to the food's amazing flavours. Highly recommend! A warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere.

Had a great time cooking with Jane and her staff. They all made it fun and effortless. The menu was well planned and delicious if I do say so myself! Her husband provides great wine pairings and many tips on how to pair wines. Great experience and looking forward to doing it again sometime in the future.

My wife had mentioned she would love to one day take a cooking class. I thought to myself, that’d be the perfect Christmas gift—and it most certainly was! Wine Country Cooking School offered a couple’s course at their beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake location. Jane, our instructor/head chef, was a wonderful host and teacher. My wife and I had such a good time not only preparing the meal, but also enjoying the company of other couples.The class size is small which makes learning both easy and intimate. Jane ensured everyone was able to take part. No one missed out or was left behind; the way a class should be. The kitchen itself is impressive—very spacious—allowing lots of safe movement while also giving a you a solid sense of your personal work area with your partner.Once everyone had their meals prepared, we were seated at the dining room, where Jane explained how and why each wine was paired with specific dishes; salad entrée; main course; dessert. And yes, the wine was good. Very good.After we left, my wife and both agreed we felt like we had just experienced a mini-vacation. My husband and I attended this cooking school on Sept 10th, 2022. We enjoyed the fresh products and ingredients we had to cook with. Jane, the owner and instructor, was very hands on and very proud of their facility. I agree. We appreciated that her husband took the time to have some desert with us and share his knowledge and experience in the industry. We would highly recommend attending this class.

Didn't know what to expect, but honestly one of the most fun things we have done in all our travels. Jane was amazing and the meal we cooked along with the wine pairings were delicious. The facilities are beautiful (it's part of Strewn Winery) and not only did we learn a ton, we had an amazing day.

We had a great experience cooking up a marvellous menu prepared by Chef Jane on our Feb. 11th 2023 class.The experience, presentation and instruction were all amazing. This was so fun for our party of four. I would highly recommended this program to anyone who is looking for something fun to do.I will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed the fun, entertaining, and informative cooking class with a group of 3 couples - long time friends. There was much laughter while we learned to prepare and cook a gourmet 3 course lunch, which we sat down to eat with excellent pairings with a fine selection of Strewn Winery wines. Highly recommended experience, and will someday return.

Jane is a fabulous host and teacher. Such a super friendly, pleasant and inspiring person. Her husband, an owner there at Stewn Winery is obviously equally great, since he went out to get my wife rasperries instead of strawberries for the dessert because of her alergies. We went with some friends for an afternoon class and had an amazing time, cooking, eating, chatting with some other awesome guests, and drinking their excellent wines. Highly recommend.

Jane was amazing. The food we cooked was terrific and the wine pairings perfect. Jane took the time to explain everything completely, including presentation of the dishes. One highlight was sitting at the table with the others in the class to enjoy the food we cooked and get to know each other. The experience was fun, engaging and relaxed.
