I was nervous going into my consultation with Dustin. I generally felt I was in over my head with this divorce and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to discuss anything specific. However by the time we wrapped I believe the expense will have been one of my best investments to date! I feel like I've regained control and focus proceeding with the divorce and his advice was directly applicable to my case. I look forward to working with him as this develops!

Careful if you are in need of actual help in a timely manner. They respond about once a day at best and they claimed all of their Edmonton lawyers were too busy so they assigned me to a Calgary lawyer and said she was a perfect fit, I wait 3 days for the consultation, prepare the $350 fee and $5000 retainer, and before the consultation they email me claiming the distance is an issue and I require an Edmonton Lawyer, after specifically stating the opposite and wasting 3 days of my time.

What a relief in a very dark time of my life. Carmen went over and above the call of duty when she helped me. I can’t say enough about how awesome my experience was thank you Carmen.

I retained Emily from Spectrum for my custody and separation case but would not recommend choosing this law firm if you have a serious family law matter that needs to be resolved for a few different reasons:1. Fairly expensive if you’re looking at experience vs cost.2. Poor communication. I did not feel like I was being taken seriously with my concerns, questions- or my case in general. I also wasn’t informed about important changes and could never really reach anybody (even with approaching deadlines or to receive important updates).3. No proper results. E.g. I ended up being booked for 4 docket court appearances with nothing to show for.4. Mistakes were not acknowledged or resolved. In my case, important deadlines were missed, without proper explanation or recognition which ended up severely effecting my case.5. Instructions were ignored. Additionally, I was being told that my file would only be prepared for transfer to my new lawyer after I had paid my last bill (which I believe to be unethical).As a result, I feel like I have wasted a lot of money and time here without achieving anything to the point where I am further behind with my case than I was before.

Mr. Patzer represented us in a very complicated family law matter and was successful in overturning an order that had stripped us of highly valued parenting time. In the process of doing so he identified legal strategies other lawyers had overlooked that ultimately, proved successful. Throughout the process, we felt he had our backs 100% and was wholly supportive of and sensitive to our heartbreak. He worked very hard to ensure we were fully informed on all our options and fought hard to represent us. He was very knowledgeable in all areas of law, including case law. He was the absolute best lawyer we could have found. We remain grateful that our family feels whole again.

Do not go with this law firm. Emily was not able to handle my minor separation case effectively.I have been charged almost 1800 to share my story, pay for one consult with opposing counsel and a follow up from opposing counsel because Emily was not getting a letter sent- it took a month and a half.I was then charged for additional phone calls and follow up emails for Emily to get her job done.I reached out to Jonathan, a partner in the firm which I requested to transfer my file but rather than that occurring, I finally got a call from Emily with yet another promise to get my letter to opposing counsel sent.When the letter was finally complete, it was two paragraphs that did not address anything that opposing counsel asked for.Jonathan finally emailed me back two weeks after initial contact because I contacted the receptionist, Donna (the only helpful person at this firm) to request contact with Dustin, another lawyer.My file was not transferred to Dustin because he needed to follow up with Emily who has zero time to even return my emails.After almost two months of a run around, I decided to close my file and seek counsel elsewhere.Not only am I out 1800 for nothing but I am three months behind on settling my minor case.

They do not get back to you when you ask for court papers, promise more then they can deliver. Over priced! I had to find out about changes and never received the court agreement even though I asked for it until I fired my lawyer. I would not recommend this firm to anyone!! Asked for them to give me a detailed bill on how they spent $900 after I fired them no response. Do not use this firm for anything complete waste of money!

Awful law firm only cares about money. To take on my case they asked for a retainer. It was very hard to get any communication from them, even though I had a large amount of funds. Multiple court appearances, over two months since the last appearance and still nothing sent to opposing council. Would not talk or return emails until a couple days prior to court leaving me in the dark and worried about my case. Until I had no money left in the reserve some how I was flooded with 10 phone calls in an afternoon, emails and multiple text demanding money. The financials were totally off, numbers did not match with made me question how all this money was drained. It's been over month and still no accurate bills or explanation as to why the numbers were totally off. Still waiting for my file from them so I can meet with a new firm. Was told they have quotas to make and that the lawyer went into family law because he saw how much money could be made in this law field. Empty promises, their deadlines are never made. After almost 17k down I am truly questioning everything, am in a worst position then 8 months ago. I am surprised to see comments to contact the owner in the other bad reviews because we have tried with no success. Radio silence on their end besides the assistant, that we were told without our money would lose her position, buying time.

I was very pleased with how Launa and her assistant Carmen took care of me through the whole process. They were professional as well as very understanding and compassionate. I always felt understood as well as understood all communicated to me. I would very much recommend Launa And her team.
