Isle of Standard Poodles

If I could give a 0 star I would. In 2014 we put down a $500 deposit on a party color blk/wht puppy. Joellen promised to update with pics, 3 weeks later no updates nothing, I requested pics and update reminding her she was suppose to do this. Joellen flipped out said we weren't fit to own one of her puppies and refused to either sell us the puppy as promised or refund us, it wasn't us who didn't want the puppy we did. I have owned dogs all my life as has my husband, our dogs are well looked after, well trained, well fed, vetted regularly....so NOT sure how we were unfit for asking for an update as promised. Police were called, she refused to discuss the matter with them. Was not worth while to pursue in small claims as we'd have to travel 5-6 hrs to London and would cost us just as much as the deposit. We never were given a refund and never got the puppy she sold her and we were out $500. This woman is NUTS and not good to deal with. BEWARE when giving her an upfront deposit!!!!! We are/were a retired couple, $500 was alot for us to loose!!!!

I have two dogs from Isle of Standard Poodles. An 8 year old male and a 3 year old female. They are wonderful dogs: friendly, smart, healthy and packed with personality! Over the 8 years of owning an Isle of Standard Poodles' dog, Joellen has always been there for us if we had any questions. Over the past 4 months, I have gotten to know her better as my female was bred and had a litter of pups. Joellen cares so much about her dogs. She is honest and fair ... and is a lovely person. After 7 weeks of caring for and loving the puppies, when the time came to take them to Joellen, we are totally confident that they will be carefully placed in forever homes. We have had two other poodles from other breeders, so we can compare. Joellen's dogs and the ongoing commitment we experience from her, are top notch: she is great!

I have been dealing with this poodle dealer since 2013 - i have 2 beautiful standard poodles from her. My last dog i purchased full right so i had option if i chose to breed - well this year, i opted to try the breeding thing ... Joellen has been there, by my side and in my corner so to speak, even though i live almost 1000 KM one way away — she is always available, text/phone/email — i do wish i lived closer .. i am not getting into the breeding business, i just wanted the opportunity to have new life at home, the litter/patter of a 5 or 6 little yappers and crappers —- you have to be a special person to do what she does ... and she is that in droves — i think my next poodle will be a white one or a party one — do not know — there are no pet limits where i am and as long as i can afford it, Joellen is my one stop shopping for beautiful, well mannered and above all health tested for any/all ailments that poodles can be afflicted with — this should be a 10 star review .. since it does related to 2 of my 4 dogs

Our puppy from Jo-Ellen (Isle of Standard Poodles) is now almost 6 months old. He is an absolute delight. He is learning everything we want him to so quickly and he is gorgeous and loving. He is very calm in the house (we do walk him regularly).

Ethically raised and well socialized poodles. Beautiful colour, pigment and personality. Joellen is wonderful to deal with. Knowledgeable and kind. She absolutely loves what she does.

Joellen has absolutely nothing but love for her dogs. She has kept the highest standards for decades. In my opinion anyone having issues, must not have been fit to keep/care for a dog. She has a keen sense of the quality of life a standard poodle requires and would never allow one of her poodles to be treated with any less than 100% commitment and high quality care. I feel that the couple of poor reviews may have been made by less than high quality care givers. I truly believe anyone that is blessed enough to retain one of her beautiful Standard Poodles will have years of joy and companionship. Sincerely Z Petrie

I have purchased 3 standard poodles from Joellen in the past. All 3, were very healthy and beautiful. Her number one priority are the puppies she breeds. Unfortunately, due to a recent move I needed to find new homes for the last 2 and Joellen went above and beyond to help our family find them new forever homes. It was heartbreaking to let them go and I knew that Joellen would help me out. Because of her, they are both in great homes and the lovely families have kept in touch and the poodles seem very happy and well cared for in their new loving homes.I will always be grateful for her help. This was a super difficult decision for me and she was very caring and understanding.I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another poodle from her in the future. Thank you again Joellen for all your help!

I bought my 1st poodle from Isle of Standard Poodle almost 14 yrs ago. What an amazing companion that pooch was. The breeder,Jo-Ellen, coached me through breeding, the delivery of 12 puppies, and coninued to support me throughout my pets life. I have recently bought my second poodle from Jo-Ellen and once again, I have an amazing 4 legged companion and continue to get great support from Isle of Standard Poodle.

Joellen is the most conscientious dog breeder I have ever come across. I bred miniature schnauzers for years and can definitely say she is the best!
