My partner and I recently bought a place for our mother and needed the floors to be refinished. Hatton Hardwood contacted us the same day and were out within the week to start the project. They completed it very quickly and we are so pleased with the final results. They went above and beyond, even removing a cupboard that my partner mentioned he wanted removed. There was one part of the floors that was missed under a cabinet and when we asked if it could be redone, they came out that week and finished it quickly. Honestly, we have never had such incredible customer service, quick completion, and such a beautiful final product before. We will definitely work with Hatton Hardwood for any future projects. We just had our hardwood floors in our 1929 home refinished from a dark colour to natural oak and they turned out amazing. The team at Hattons hardwood was professional, on time, and finished even a bit earlier than planned. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Great service and great work. I wanted to have carpet in one small room removed and replaced with hardwood to match the rest of the main floor. Cal was able to match the old hardwood better that I could have hoped and the end result was beautiful. You can see here the old floor and the new floor line up in the photo I have posted here. If I decide to go ahead with the upstairs, this will be who I will call.

Cal and Team did an absolutely stunning job on our floors. We had pre-finished hardwood, and they laced new floor, sanded, and stained to a new lighter color and installed flush mount ventsThey were bang on schedule, and there was little to no dust.I would 100% recommend them for anyone looking to refinish their floors.

Cal was really great to deal with. His recommendation for us to use the Rubio Monocoat oil (rather than varnish) on our new hardwood floors was perfect. He told me everything I needed to know about how to use this product with the best results and we got an outstanding, high quality floor finish. I couldn't have gotten that if I just ordered it online.He has a really extensive showroom with such a huge variety of different finishes. I have never seen anything like it. We are trying to be more environmentally sound in our own house project and this oil was incredible - no VOC's, pretty much NO toxicity. After a lot of research and even considering making our own linseed oil floor finish, this turned out to be the best option. The finish is now hardened off completely and it even repels water. Thanks to Cal for giving us a discount as well on the product, we never could have done it without your good advice and price!Now almost 2 months later and I will say that we love this floor even more. The Rubio Monocoat holds up well against spills of all kinds, repels liquids well. The floor soap we bought with it works really well to clean the floor. It does scratch (missing felty foot on one chair) but that buffs out easily with a cloth, whereas a varnished finish won't do that. This is better than any other varnished hardwood floors we have in the house by the look, the feel of it, and the lack of toxics. I highly recommend this product. We even used it for the trim on both the base of our woodstove and trim around stairs to tie everything in. Thanks again Cal.

Cal is an honest and a nice guy, don't think he has any ill intentions. We selected Hatton's over a few other places to refinish our flooring as we felt comfortable with his communication and personality, they were not the cheapest. The quote process was easy, through being on schedule/prompt during execution. When they finished we were extremely pleased.Fast forward, 5 weeks after the job was done we started to see an area they repaired (sanded/filled) start creaking and seeing the filler come out... visible on our Jacobean stained maple...when we got quotes and others mentioned that area likely needed to be replaced. I called Cal - to notify him that the filler was coming out and I could feel a ledge/filler popping up between wood - and to his credit he was honest and said they did not notice that in that area that the original install was not done well UNTIL they started the repair (more prone to shifting/more impacted by wood expanding/contracting).I expressed to him that I am very disappointed he, nor his crew did not call me to notify me of this poor install issue (at the time of repair) and give me the option to replace that small section (even if it resulted in more cost). All the other areas they replaced that were damaged beyond repair are look good and are holding up well, I wish they had contacted me about this area instead of proceeding to try repair.Cal has offered 'out of customer service' to come do a re-fill and stain if/when it gets worse and I do plan take him up on it. That is something which I sincerely do appreciate...However, it seems this problem will keep coming back since that area should have been replaced/installed properly with new wood before staining at time of refinish.As such, just can't give a 5 star...I would increase this rating back to 5 star if he would offer a better/ more permanent fix to our satisfaction. We just wanted 'new' floors for more than 5 weeks.I have advised him to keep in mind for the future - to stand by a higher degree of excellence in workmanship - and do the right thing if they see something not installed right from the start (similar to the couple other areas he found)....to mention it to the homeowner. Right now, cannot say with certainty that I am happy to have chosen Cal instead of the others.

We had Hatton's Hardwood Floors over to repair some damaged pieces on our hardwood floor and they did a fantastic job! We have IPE Brazilian Walnut floors, which are multicolored, and Dustin did such a great job, we can't tell which pieces he replaced. We're very happy with the end result, and would highly recommend Hatton's Hardwood Floors for all your hardwood needs. Thank you Cal and Dustin.

Back in 2017 we had done a huge reno (500K) and I got a quote from Hatton's and others for new hardwood in the new added space and a complete sand and refinish of the whole 1500sqft main floor including two stair cases.I didn't pick Hatton's for this job in 2017 and the company I awarded was a very poor choice on my part and here is why.First of all I was trying to have the same people do multiple jobs as they said they knew how to do it, but when they showed up with rental equipment I knew I was in trouble. Sawdust was everywhere and the equipment wasn't setup right.3 days later the floor was stained, but was blotchy, so they decided to put stain in the clear coat to even it out. The result of this made it appear as if the floor had been painted. My wife cried for days, but our budget was tapped out and we had to wait.March of 2023 we called Cal at Hatton's and asked him to quote the job again to fix this mess.Cal and his team of experts showed up on time with the professional equipment and in no time we could witness the results pro's can make on a job.They consulted with us to select the correct stain color to compliment the other finish's and after 2 coats of clear coat satin finish we can't thank them enough. The results are absolutely stunning and completed in 5 days!So if you are thinking of redoing your floors, make to right choice the first time and save yourself the tears, frustrations and money it cost me.Regards,Ken Johnston
