This is by far the worst development company i have seen. I received my unit full of problems. worst customer service. Unorganized and unprofessional staff. I would not recommend buying anything from this builder. After multiple years of delay they finally gave us the unit full of problems. They changed so much development fees that you could not even imagine. Do yourself a favor and buy from some other builder. If could i would give them a zero star !

My daughter and I have had the pleasure of working with Galya, Manager - Customer Service Construction in the Art Shoppe Condo for the past 4+ months fixing quite a few outstanding issues in out penthouse suite. She's responsive, kind and genuinely interested in resolving issues for her customers. Our experience with Freed's management prior to Galya was an absolute disaster. We would like to publicly acknowledge and THANK her for being so understanding in helping us adjust to what would otherwise have been a traumatic experience with the Builder. Thanks Gayla .... you're a great point of contact for Freed Development who truly understand your role in customer satisfaction.Rowena & Taylor

As a renter in one of their newer buildings, I must stress how poorly Freed follows through with their commitments. The amenities have been delayed over two years, which is par for the course with some new developers. My main issue is a dishwasher that is a safety risk as it slams the floor when it opens. I went through the dishwasher supplier directly, but they pointed out the weight of the door (on the face of the dishwasher) is simply too heavy and would never work. I was then told by the developer a different story and that the dishwasher needs to be replaced --- we have been assured they're doing all they can FOR 6 MONTHS NOW. I understand people buy where they can afford, but if you can afford to not live in a Freed building, well please do!

Current:I have not been able to get a reply from anyone at customer service, all the previous contacts are gone and no one reply or calls back. I send on average 2 emails to them a day, and have just finally given up on the phone...but it's just so frustrating!!!Previous 2nd experience:I have had great experiences with customer service in the past but since G is no longer my point of contact it's been a hit or miss, I leave messages multiple times a day as well as emails and have had only one person help, she was great but again to follow up I've had no luck. The AC unit during a heat wave hasn't been working, the technician that they helpfully sent said that it was a building issue that would be addressed after the weekend but it is almost end of day on Tuesday and I've had no luck...this unit also had issues in the winter where G helped immediately... this is so frustrating! I understand they are busy but one call back would be much appreciated.Previous review:I just wanted to post my experiences with G, who is part of the customer care team. I manage quite a few units at Art Shoppe but also one at 150 Redpath, and many other projects as well. I just wanted to express how during this whole pandemic and all the crazy things that can happen in the first few years of a building, my experience with G has been really wonderful. I appreciate the speed and consideration that has been given to any issues or questions I've had. She has been conscientious and very responsive giving everything from missing bathroom tap fixtures to floorings and leaks. It's been a challenging time for everyone and wanted to just give a big thank you for such great work.

Purchased a villa at Muskoka Bay resort, that was scheduled to be built in September 2021. The last communication received back in May 2021 about unavoidable delay, no update ever since, cannot get hold of anyone in the office, cannot get back the deposit paid, left multiple voicemails and sent emails without any response. The worst developer in my experience. Stay away.Update: After nearly two years, the builder cancelled the project and we got our money back, no need to mention the value of the money is not even close to what it was in 2020.

Galya, Customer Service at Freed: I often say that it takes one person at a time to build the brand of an organization. I do have unpleasant memories dealing with Freed employees but none of those people are there today. TODAY's review is to give PRAISE and RECOGNITION to Freeds Customer Service Manager,Galya, who oversees the TARION service requests from owners in new build properties. Galya does not have an easy job: being the go between for highly frustrated property owners and often unreliable trades can lead to much tension. Add to that a global pandemic full of lockdowns and safety concerns and conflicts are inevitable. Galya is the most dedicated, relentless , results driven customer service professional i worked with in 15 years of buying and selling new builds. Somehow she manages to work extremely well with two groups of stakeholders each with different priorities. Freed is lucky to have her. In fact I'm publicly saying that it would be my pleasure to offer Galya a professional reference for her future endeavours. I'm not easy to please and she earned my full respect. Thank you, Galya.

EDIT: Update August 7, 2020Would give 0 stars if possible but not an option. 1-Star it is.I left a sliver of hope that they would eventually be okay.I am dead wrong. I went to get my keys for the FIRST TIME and they gave me 2 security access fobs. They said the garage remote fob is back-ordered and need to wait a month to get it. I went down to park and then the 2 security fobs they gave me BOTH didn't work. Getting stuck 3 levels underground is no joke. After 15 minutes or so, finally a contractor passes by and can let me in. I went straight to security and demanded new access fobs. They said they have to re-program and would need 1-2 weeks. I asked how I was supposed to get from P3 underground to my suite, they told me to walk up two car ramps from P3 to P2 and P2 to Ground, walk around the building to the outside and then buzz the concierge. Would you like to walk up 2 car ramps with cars swerving around you??? Whose fault is it if the car hits me because I'm not supposed to be ON THE RAMP.I am not even in occupancy period. I have paid and closed the condo. That means they had months to figure out the remote-fob situation but failed to do so anyways.THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. THE DEVELOPER IS AWFUL.NEVER AGAIN AM I BUYING FROM FREED.STAY AWAY.I'm taking the time to write this to warn others, avoid if you can._____________________________________________________The Customer Care is terrible. Nobody has any answers and they pass you off to other departments and parties because nobody has any clue what to do. Mere 5 days before Occupancy and the paperwork is wrong and nobody wants to or seems capable to fix it in a timely way. If this applies to their building, we're all in deep sh*t.

Disrespectful condo developer, in terms of customer service, but also the community. Consistently having worker strikes, rushing to build, and shutting streets with limited notice due to lack of communication with the other neighborhood buildings. This has been a safety issue given the # of people. While some of the comments below indicate that one of the customer service reps was helpful at the Art Shoppe condos, that person is no longer there. Also, the issues stem from the condo not being finished, an issue that many condo owners/renters face when moving into a building that is still under construction and during the assignment period.Freed's latest developments on Broadway Avenue will have minimal green space (you will basically be living in a concrete block) and in close proximity to neighboring buildings (no privacy). Look at both the floor plans. Look at the overall building plan and immediate area.

The Art Shoppe Customer Care team has been very helpful throughout my move-in process. Specifically, Galya has been so kind and has provided incredible attention to supporting ongoing needs!!
