Way less helpful than in previous years, as they will no longer provide letters in-person. BUT - especially for grad students - it's still worth waiting to talk to someone to understand what your record says and whether/which letter to request online.Do not be turned away by the line attendants, their job seems to be to just encourage people to leave.

This not 1 star it’s ZERO 0 !Dealing with this office is like torture, most probably worst HR, customer and financial service you ever experienced in your life WORLDWIDEThey should supposed to start taking zoom meeting from 9 but they don’t till 10:45-11 AMNo one answer phones based on the time they are given , it’s always said more than 10 minutes but you could end up 1 hour on phone!Regarding refunds I had the worst experience ever even considering change my university, because if a university act like that , how they can make a better person of me!

Would rate 1 star if I could. Made me get out of the line when I was near the front to sign up on “qless” but the qless wait was over 2 hours. When I tried getting back in they sent me to the very back. Horrible experience, pray you never have financial issues or use qless before you go in.

I want to dedicate this review as a thank you to Bettina. She is nothing but awesome. She went above and beyond reviewing my financial and academic records to make sure that things were going my way. Her knowledge is spot on. Exactly what we students are dire for. If we had more folks like her, life would've been a lot easier. Bettina, thank you so much! Keep up the great spirit.I understand the frustration of the negative reviews. If you are a future/current/past student, this may be helpful:-All universities seem to dissatisfy the public with the same points of concern regarding the Office of the Registrar. Solely blaming York is pure injustice. This spans on a bigger level.-When you go into the OUR and you are not satisfied with the outcome, JUMP BACK on the que again and get helped by someone else. Make sure you pass by the first one who didn't help you properly and have them see you coming in again, maybe you'll bust some ear drums and send a message. When I know the person in front of me doesn't know what they're doing or have no interest in helping me which is common to be honest, I just instantly tell them thank you, get up, do a quick U-turn and come straight back to someone else. Unfortunately, you just gotta have some thick skin, but it works for me and I always end up with someone awesome. Sorry to the first one, but this is my future we're talking about. I can't afford admin errors. Already had too many of those in my life.-This is a big university. YorkU almost always has 50,000 students attending which naturally makes the OUR busy ESPECIALLY during blackout periods thus pushing service standards. Blackout periods are the first 3 weeks of every semester where everything is just backlogged so expect little to no progress. You just have to get used to doing things early on when possible (i.e. go on QLess the minute the que opens, coming in-person, enroll early, apply for OSAP early etc..). You'll be forced to be proactive rather than reactive which is a plus in my books.-The registrar's office has recently combined their duties handling both registral services and admissions in one go (one stop shop). I guess, Yay? This is a much better adaptation than the previous model but a downside to this is that folks who seek admissions services during the times of little demand to admissions have to wait for the gridlock of individuals seeking registral services because the whole office runs both now so everyone has to wait for everything which is a mishap, but the truth is, no system is perfect so pick your devil; better the devil you know that the one you don't.-Based on my personal experience, try to utilize what is available online first and then finalize it with the OUR. I lost count on how many times this approach made things seamless, literally. Do your research first, it will save everyone time and effort.

This is the best consult ever! I got in line on APP QLESS this morning , and i almost got help right away. All the staffs were nice and friendly, especially Eva❤️She is amazing! She was super polite and attentive, gave me a lot great suggestions, and helped me solve problems with my file patiently.I’m so grateful for her kindness and support, looking forward to my future study!
