My wife and I went for a mountain bike lesson and I bought a pair of 5tens freeride pros.Our lesson with Kat was awesome. She found things for both my wife and I to work on, despite my wife and I being very different skill levels. The lesson flew by, and I feel I came out a much better rider, while my wife came out FAR more confident. We went for a ride the next day and covered far more ground than we would have previously.Also the shoes are awesome.

They fixed a trip-ending issue with my boot, could have easily left me high and dry but the team was very humble and useful and got me back in business, and wouldn’t accept any payment. I was blown away, and cannot speak any more highly of them. I will preference them for all future needs.

Bought a pair of ArcTeryx shoes from the Guides Hut in 2021 when I was passing thru town. Turned out, the shoes blistered me up & didn’t work for me. I couldn’t wear them so they remained in like new condition. Recently, about one year later, I was back in town and the courteous staff at the Guides Hut swapped out the shoes for a pair of HokaOne’s that fit much better. That’s the kind of customer service that earns customer loyalty. I will be back in the future to support this small business! I hope you will too.

Guides hut went above and beyond when mounting touring bindings on my daughters’ skis. Not only were they super friendly and completed it in a timely manor, they surpassed my expectations by making sure my daughter had skins, and even fit them to her skis! Very impressed!

Awesome outdoor gear shop with customer service that is beyond compare. Staff is knowledgeable and they know how to keep you in the outdoors doing the activities you love. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Fernie area!

Heads up, read the fine print, there is a 14-day return policy and they are militant about it. There are plenty of more reasonable options in Fernie and online. I learned my lesson and won't shop there again.

The front door reads that “your second pair of skis is free if you pay twice for your first pair”. In short come here for great advice and caring service, duly rewarded. I tried different pairs of Black Crow demos, spent lots of people’s time on what I really need and left with a pair of full price Serpos, I could not be happier. So I walked in confused by the assumed >100mm chat and several days later of daily visits walked out happy. Powder overnight and sub 100mm Serpos took on Cedar Bowl’s pow. Great store go in ask listen buy and use
