I visited the physical location of The Regency Chess Company and was not disappointed. I was met by a friendly man named David, who not only was a chess fan and enthusiast like myself and father, but had a wide selection of products to show me before buying. The prices were very fair. It’s unlikely you’ll get a better deal for the quality anywhere online! The man who runs this operation is knowledgeable about his craft, passionate about the game and eager to ensure you get the best possible deal for your products. I bought a lot from David, as I’m preparing the start my own chess club; and will be looking forward to buying from him again. Absolutely deserving of the 5 star rating!

Was supposed to pick up 10 chess sets for a chess club. The day of pick up David from Regency Chess completely ghosted me. I called and emailed for weeks. The Chess club is now cancelled and now we have youth who signed up who are extremely disappointed.

David was responsive, extremely helpful and accommodating. I purchased the Palisander set and it exceed expectations.

Excellent shipping time. Arrived in less than a week. Ordered 3 Conqueror sets in plastic. 43 dollars each. 11 for shipping total. Great weight to it and big enough to be safe for kids. I have looked at dozens of sets online and this one is easily the best value. Skip the cheap plastic sets and invest in this one. Came with a 20 inch Vinyl chess board as well. Good for travelling.

Ordered a chess set. 5 pawns were cracked. I emailed and even sent pictures to the owner’s cell phone. Never received a follow up. I also ordered the set with ebony pieces but it came with brown ones instead. To this date there has been no follow up. This set was supposed to be for my son and I to enjoy. Will never purchase from them again and I strongly advise to stay away. Horrible experience.

This has been a very frustrating experience.-Asked a question via web form and never recieved a response.-Emailed a question instead and recieved a response after 19 days.-Ordered a $200 set of chess pieces and when delivered, one of the rooks was a different size, shape and level of quality from the rest of the set.-Emailed the owner photos and a description of the issue and after multiple emails and delay, he said he'd send a replacement piece.-This was 2 weeks ago and he never sent anything and won't respond to emails.This transaction has been a very negative experience and I've paid top dollar for a mismatched set. Owner is unresponsive and has essentially ghosted me. I will be filing a transaction dispute with my credit card company.My advice is to steer clear of this business.

I recently ordered a chess set here. The owner returned my calls and emails promptly and was pleasant and patient in helping me choose a set to meet my needs. The set arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Very, very pleased.

David provided expert help as we chose a chess set for our grandson. The set arrived quickly, was beautifully packed and looks fantastic! Thanks to David and The Regency Chess Company of Canada!

Ordered a weighted chess set. One of the pieces was not weighted and when I requested a replacement piece, I received a response that another piece would be sent. I never received anything and no longer receive replies to my requests. edit: After posting a 1-start review, I received notice that package was being shipped to me. I received the properly weighted chess piece two days later. It is a very nice chess set, but I would have preferred not to have to make 3 requests to fix the problem then post a bad review to make things right.
