If I could give zero stars I would....I have lived in one of Greenlocks managed properties for about 5 years and had very few pleasant interactions. Empty promises for improving the building (ie. new side-door that locks, flooring in the laundry room, removing Randy" from underneath the shed

I've been renting with Greenlocks for over a year now and the service has been excellent. Rob has been an outstanding landlord. He's always quick to get back to me if I have any concerns and has gone above and beyond expectations. Rob has always been very friendly and polite to deal with and is understanding and accommodating when life happens.

I’ve lived in a Greenlocks Property since December of 2020, and Rob was a great landlord!We were moving into a brand new basement apartment(2 bedroom). We got updates as the build was coming along and it was a great option close to Algonquin College while I was in school. During Instances with COVID, he was even great to give me and my roommate a shorter lease that we could extend to help us in case our program got shut down again.Rob was quick to act when we had very noisy upstairs neighbours, and was helpful with any problems we had!We moved upstairs within the same house(4bedroom) and when we realized that the dryer was staining our clothes from the previous tenants, Rob quickly got someone to come in and change out the dryer drum.He was quick to reply and answer whenever there was something that needed a quick fix or would call someone to come as soon as possible if it was a bigger fix!The property was always taken care of and Rob was always very respectful about our time and scheduling properly if someone needed to come in to do some repairs or some updates.I wish that there was another two bedroom property he had available when my lease was up so I could have moved in and kept him as a landlord!Only reason I’m giving 4/5 stars is because the rent was a little pricey, but with the ever growing market and the location being close to Algonquin College, it makes sense why the prices were what they were.

I've lived in a Green locks property since spring of 2019. Rob has been a great landlord. I rent a 2 bedroom beautifully updated apartment. My washing machine broke down that summer that I moved in and rob was quick to act on my issue, he replaced the washer and the dryer which I wasn't expecting a new dryer.During covid rob was AMAZING he accommdate me as my industry went through 3 lock downs. Over all am extremely happy with Green locks property management and rob as a landlord. I highly recommend green locks property.

My wife and I came to Ottawa with nothing but a smile - Rob, with no ability to prove our income or reliability, took a chance on us, and the life we've since built wouldn't have been possible with that. It's easy for a landlord to hide behind procedure and legality to deny renters for those reasons - Rob, however, is a human being, and renting from him feels like it. Personable, responsive and accommodating, he's the most friendly and reasonable landlord I've had in my life. Once, our apartment developed a fly problem - he and his wife showed up with strips, lavender and fly swatters and went to town. Absolutely class landlording.We moved out a few years ago to a different spot and immediately regretted it, and now we're back with Rob. There are a lot of unfortunate landlords to get stuck with out there, but Rob isn't one of them. If you understand he's a human being he'll do the same to you, and that's a rare quality in the modern housing market.

Greenlocks Property Management - A company that consistently sets low expectations and fails to achieve them!I have lived and visited family in a lot of rental units, but none as bad as this. I lived with my cousin for the summer of 2019 and 2022 as I was temporarily in Ottawa to complete a summer course. I had not one pleasant experience with the building, except for the lovely neighbours who moved prior to my departure. The apartment itself looked trashy/unkept and it had nothing to do with my cousins’ stuff/ furniture. The walls had so many layers of paint that it peeled off on very humid days. In the bedroom there was a large crack in the ceiling and child star stickers stuck to the walls that the landlords did not bother to remove. The light fixtures looked like they were going to fall off at any minute and the window screens were broken (held in with a nail). The bathroom fan wasn’t even securely attached to the wall and did not vent any hot air from the bathroom. The company’s solution to this lack of maintenance was just to open the window. Any communication she did receive from the company was accusatory and disrespectful. I saw these emails and was shocked to see their contents. I don’t understand how a company could be so blatantly rude to their tenants.

My son and daughter-in-law have lived at one of Greenlocks properties due to cheap rent for several year. I am all about saving money in rent, but the conditions they endured were deplorable. The flooring in the living room had gaps between the wood, the linoleum was peeling in the kitchen, the stairway closet had a giant hole in it, and water damage was evident on the ceiling in the bathroom. The apartment looked like whoever painted it had never painted a day in their life. The windows on the unit were old and dingy and the screens fell out quite often.The front door was extremely difficult to lock, probably because it was a bedroom door used as a front door of the apartment. Anyone could access the unit as there was no locks on the exterior front or side doors.When my daughter-in-law had surgery, I went over to help her. I ended up doing a load of laundry for her. The dryer didn't even have a dial on it that worked. I had to use pliers to adjust the timed dry setting.I am thankful they have since moved to property management company who seems to care and know what they are doing. I would NOT recommend living in these units or having the owners manage your property!

I’ve lived in a property under Greenlocks for over two years without any issues at all! Rob is always very pleasant and respectful. The unit and building are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Rob has always gone above and beyond with anything that may need fixing and effectively communicates with tenants in a timely manner. I have peace of mind knowing how great of a landlord Rob has been for so long and it’s part of the reason I continuously choose to remain a tenant. I would strongly recommend renting with Greenlocks!

I’ve lived in a lot of rentals as a graduate student and early career faculty member but I’ve never left somewhere before just to get away from a landlord—until I met Bev and Rob.They told us to ignore the condition of the property during a video walkthrough. It was first wave COVID, and I was moving back from the US. They said there would be a significant renovation before we arrived, but there wasn’t. It wasn’t even fully painted. It wasn’t even clean. The carpets smelled like the previous tenants had a dozen dead cats. A professional clean did not fix them. We complained continuously, but Rob and Bev like to say they can’t afford any repairs and just leave things. That is, if they answer you at all.When we moved in, they didn’t tell us that the house had no furnace. When it was cold in September, we asked how to turn on the heat. They told us (mistakenly) that they weren’t legally obligated to heat the house until mid-October. That’s not true in Ottawa. And who would do that, anyway? We are people, and it is cold. They got a furnace installed when they figured out the real law (that the property has to be above 20 degrees). Then for the next two years, they’d say they couldn’t afford any repairs, because they already bought a furnace.We finally left after the derecho cut power to half the house. Two electricians with conflicting opinions (in personal vehicles) failed to resolve the issue. Rob told me he was going to take formal steps to stop me from asking the electricians if they were licensed. Finally, I put in a work order with Hydro myself, and they repaired some roof equipment. The neighbours were showering in the dark for weeks. We all put in our notice at the same time.They tried to keep our rent deposit as a security deposit.I question their choice to rent it out again now. They have a plan to add four units to the two-unit building, on top and in the backyard. They don’t think the construction will be bothersome. Nevertheless, it’s listed, with the same very old pictures they used to trick us.

I would recommend Greenlocks Property Management to anyone seeking a lease or management for their property. During my time as a tenant, my unit has undergone a number of upgrades and Rob always goes out of his way to ensure the property is well maintained while being attentive to my needs as well as that of my roommates. Again, I highly recommend Rob and Greenlocks Property Management.
