The best way I can describe this property is “half done”.When I walk into a hotel room after a day of travelling the first thing I consider is if the room is clean. The Hotel Montreal Metropolitan was clean and I felt comfortable as I laid down on the first day.As I woke up the next day I started to notice issues the impacted the rest of my stay. The room had one queen bed but the wall mounted head board was clearly set up for two beds (not really a big deal since I was alone, travelling for work). I noticed that there was a beautiful coffee machine, but no coffee for the machine. The bathroom had beautiful fixtures, but I was always short a towel or facecloth. The wifi had great download speeds, but poor upload speeds (needed for a productive Zoom or Teams meeting). Most of these issues I could get over because the staff were nice and helped out with any request. My mediocre ratings really comes from the combination of the above issues and the poor breakfast. The breakfast, which was included with my rate, had about half as many options as I would have hoped. Little selection of fruit, no yoghurt, and proteins like ham or sausage that were soaked in some type of sweet brine. The neighbourhood has few other options but this property just felt half done.

This Hotel was constructed from an old textile factory and is approx 5 years old.The interior of the building is typical European themed and styled. Rooms are spacious with either 1 or 2 bed configuration. Beds are comfortable and semi firm, bathrooms are decorated with a European twist even down to the door handles. Unfortunately I stayed at the height of the ice rain storm which knocked out power to over 500,000 people on the island of Montreal. The hotel lost power, the staff placed candles in the hallways and stairways to provide some light. The building still remains without power at the writing of this review- power restored at approx noon Saturday. The hotel had a generator going to provide breakfast on second day of the power outage. Compensation was offered and I also received a free power bank charger - at this point waiting on refund receipt from Hotel - just received my refund of approx $45 - OMG are you for real ? That's what I get for two out of three nights sleeping in a cold room, but let me tell you they had to trouble asking me for $100 safety deposit on the room. Management did not even attempt to provide other arrangements to other Best Western hotels that were not affected by the storm power outage. My experience was below even my acceptable standards considering the circumstances and situation but there was a Tim's up the street were I'm sure the hotel could have got some coffee for their guests - just a thought. The hotel is approx 8 min walk from the nearest Metro station.

The rooms are fine, enough space and fairly on good shape, they don’t have housekeeping, I had to ask for it.In general I think is fine, but their customer service can improve.

All around unhappy with our stay. The first night there was a huge party in the hotels banquet hall which was located directly under our room. We went down to speak with the staff and they were very dismissive as if we were unreasonable for being upset by super loud electronic music keeping us up. They never once even offered to switch our rooms. We were just told its end at 12:00 am and brushed aside. They ended up going until 1:30. The following morning we tried speaking with staff again and were told they couldn’t do anything but a manager would be in the following morning. So the following morning we tried once again, and were told they couldn’t do anything the general manager would give us a call… which as you may have guessed never happened. We should at the very least have been compted for that night. If I wanted to be kept up by terrible music and loud drunk people I would’ve rented a room above a dive bar. I travel all over the country for work and this is by far the worst costumer service I’ve ever received. Not even remotely worth what I paid.

Lets begin with the walking into the hotel, The lady with blonde hair at the reception is extremely rude as if she owns the place and you are an uninvited guest at her place. Attitude for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LOL,. Anyways walking towards the room, the corridor is so congested and smelly. And the real surprise happens when you open the room door I mean the room size was so small anyways that is Even fine but the furniture inside is like from 60’s i guess lol and the antique Chair omg you feel embarrassed paying that much amount for room and you get this., very disappointing , plus the fridge in the room is not even working properly and the A.c is so noisy that you feel like there is construction going on. The worst part is when you sleep at night the pillows are so high and hard that i got neck pain and i could not sleep at night plus the carpets are the dirtiest thing in the room you put your feet on the floor feels like sticky after that,. Curtains in the room are like the old school and smelly too,, while checking out that same lady was there and when you ask her question she replies like slapping on your face disgusting.. breakfast was basic but cups were dirty if you are drinking coffee so please check that too.Parking is not that good as it is under the busy highway and dirty water drops drip down on your car and make it dirty . All in all i would suggest to look any other option too if you have no choice then you can come here other wise pay 100$ extra and book somewhere else

The rooms were clean, beautiful, MODERN, and comfortable. There was a light not working and I wish my room came with a microwave. It had a fridge tho!

-The whole place looks run down.-Fool smell on every floor.-Multiple requests to get proper bedding for the pull-out bed were ignored even if I paid extra for additional people.-Coffee should be provided with the in-room coffee maker, had to ask for some at the front desk which I shouldn't have to do.-Bed’s mattress cover had a huge brown stain like if a pregnant woman gave birth on it the night before and front desk claimed they didn’t had extras clean mattress covers. They also said they were out of facecloths as we had none in our room.-Room’s windows so dirty one couldn’t see through. This isn’t worth 1/3 of what they charged per night, and I wouldn’t have booked it if I knew how it’d be like. Best piece of advice is avoid this place at all cost. To the owner who's going to reply to me with 'thx for the feedbacks blah blah' pretty pathetic that you refused to make it right once we brought up the issues.

Hmm... where do I begin? The hotel is old and poorly renovated, and the lobby has an unpleasant smell resembling a dirty kitchen with rancid oil. The lady at the front desk is extremely rude and acts as if she questions why we are even staying there. Although the room is spacious, it is shockingly dirty. Let's just say I strongly advise against taking off your shoes, even if you're going into the shower. And for your own sake, avoid looking behind the cabinet or under the table. Trust me, you do not want to see what's lurking there. The AC is unbearably loud, making it impossible for most of us to sleep or even hear ourselves. However, I must admit that it functions well and keeps the room nice and cool. The window is so dirty that you don't even need the curtain.Parking is free, but it's located beneath a busy highway that drips brown rust water onto your car. Additionally, you'll have to navigate a busy street with no lights or pedestrian walkways, so good luck with that.As for breakfast, it follows a regular continental style and serves simple but satisfactory options. However, we had an unpleasant experience when we were abruptly told not to take the last few pieces of food and instead wait for them to be refilled. It was quite rude. It seems that the kitchen staff, except for the old lady who is very nice and keeps everything in order for the guests, are not actively engaged in their duties and often spend their time playing with their phones behind the counter. All in all, if you're seeking a decent hotel for a vacation or business trip, I strongly advise against choosing this one. There are plenty of hotels in Montreal that offer a much better experience within the same price range.

Climate control virtually nonexistent. Air con a cube sitting a few feet out from the wall with a aluminum duct running across the carpet. Similar noise to having a lawnmower in the room. Not an experience I was expecting in a best Western property
