Do yourself a favor and not book a road test at ama. The lady is very intimidating she does not communicate well. Daughter did two road tests and she was told two different things after the two road tests. Was not really allowed to ask any questions before the test. The examiner asks like five times if we had a recording device inside the vehicle. Ended up going across the street and had a totally different experience. Examiner was very friendly. Took the time to address any concerns and answer any questions before the road test. After the road test communicated very well the good and bad. Also took the time to show us from the driver's guide where to find the proper information. Save yourself time and money and go across the street.

Only downside would be needing an AMA membership to use their registry services. That and depending when you go you may only wait 5 minutes or easily over an hour. Them being open on Saturday is nice though since everyone else doesn't seem to be

If there is a rating of zero/negative I would have given that. Reason being neither friendly nor helpful service for new customer.

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred recently when we sought assistance from your company for a towing service. I am a member of AMA and I have always relied on your services for timely and professional assistance. However, on this particular occasion, I am deeply disappointed with the distressing experience my fiancee and I had to endure. On June 29,2023 at approximately 2:00pm, we contacted your company to request a tow truck as our car had encountered a problem with the ball joint, rendering it immobile. The agent on the phone was informed about the specific issue and the urgency of the situation. We provided all the necessary details requested to facilitate the timely dispatch of a tow truck. To our astonishment, when the tow truck arrived at around 5 pm, it was driven by an individual who appeared to be a teenager barely 18 years old. This raised immediate concerns, as it is expected that a tow truck operator, particularly one affiliated with a reputed company like yours, possesses the requisite training and experience to handle such situations efficiently.Instead of employing the appropriate towing method by using a dolly, as we were advised would be used, the driver chose to use the deck to tow our car. This decision caused further damage to our vehicle, which was already in a vulnerable state. Intriguingly, when we questioned the driver about his choice, he candidly admitted that he did not know how to operate the dolly. It is extremely disconcerting that someone with such inadequate knowledge and skills would be sent to handle a complex situation in this manner. We are deeply perplexed by the lack of professionalism and the resulting negligence in handling our vehicle during the tow. Instead of resolving the initial issue with the ball joint as intended, additional damage was inflicted, exacerbating an already stressful situation for us. We entrusted our vehicle to your company, which we believed would act in our best interests and ensure the safety of our property. Regrettably, this trust was severely compromised. In light of this incident, I kindly request that you thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective measures to address our concerns. Our car is now in dire need of repairs and we expect your company to bear the responsibility for the additional damage occurred during the towing process.Furthermore, please provide us with details of the steps you intend to take to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. We hope that our complaint will serve as an opportunity for your company to improve the training and supervision of your tow truck operators, thereby enhancing overall customer satisfaction. We look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Failure to adequately address our concerns will leave us with no option but to consider alternative courses of action to rectify the damages caused.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Yours sincerely,Merlita Centeno

I was so impressed with AMA in Edmonton and Calgary, had my tire changed and back on the road in under an hour. However, if you live in the Grande Prairie area, towing is subcontracted, AMA is not a priority. On a beautiful clear morning with no weather issues, the wait time, if you are an AMA member, is 5 hours. Totally unacceptable.

Be aware of the Road Examiner at AMA Grande Prairie. She has done everything possible to fail me. I had licenses in California, in Ontario, in Europe and she managed to imagine mistakes to fail me. At the beginning she was trying hard to find any missing items not to allow the test. After on the roads that are covered by snow; she expected me to go on posted speed and she risked my life and hers. It was the scariest driving test I ever had. I am glad that nightmare is over!!! So sad AMA has an examiner with issues like her!!! Go to the registry accros thé street from AMA, they are nice and cooperative humans.

Easiest licensing experience thus far. I had an appointment with an advisor to register my sole proprietorship who also provided me with an amazing accountant recommendation. My husband was also able to go and register his two cars within minutes of arriving without any issue.

I attended the counter to obtain a marriage license, my partner was in hospice and couldn’t be there with me, the lady that helped me was extremely helpful, understanding , and compassionate to our situation. She accepted our paperwork that was filled out by a notary without question and made me very comfortable in a time that was very stressful and extremely emotional. I highly recommend AMA for all your licensing needs
