Gulf Island Veterinary Clinic

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic! The staff are so kind, attentive and hard working. My dog LOVES trips to the vet. I am very appreciate of the staff and their services. My dog recently got a spay and the level of care is unmatched. Thank you for all you do, I always know my dogs are in the best hands!

Be careful if you are taking your vet here that you see EXACTLY the same vet every time! If you see a different one, the clinic tells you they must see the pet again before giving the SAME pills for exactly THE SAME condition!! Even though they have all the information in detail in their files, because this particular vet was no longer there at the clinic, ... they want another $125 (plus) for a pet exam!!! Any wonder why animals end up at the SPCA?... nobody can afford the vet bills they charge here!! We have been going here for 3 years with 4 pets.. they have lost our business because of this!

The crops were done LEGALLY by a LICENSED veterinarian. The customer did not ask you to do something illegal, he asked you to care for his dogs who had had a LEGAL operation previously done.Furthermore, I didn't say you spay and neuter 10 week old puppies. I said you had no problem with spay or neuter before sexual maturation, despite the fact that this has PROVEN negative consequences, unlike cropping. Hypocrisy at it's finest. This certainly isn't about putting the animal first so stop acting like it is.

The staff at this clinic are amongst the best I have seen in the veterinary field. We were new patients with a problem and they took us in immediately and treated us and our pup as if we were long-time clients. The information we were given was clear and concise, leaving no doubt whatsoever that we had made the right decision in taking her to them. Dr. Tedder was informative, but I think the thing I appreciated the most was her honesty in explaining that certain tests did not HAVE to be done, but were our choice. We have complete trust and will be taking our little one back for a much-needed surgery within the month. She will be in good hands. Thank you so much!!

Our darling Labradoodle, decided to treat herself to a chunk of chocolate (winkled it out of a hidden car door pocket, tricky). Knowing the potential danger, we took her to this vet and they were magnificent. From the desk reception to the techs to the vet herself, Dr Justine Tedder, all were thoroughly professional, highly skilled at their job, and reassuring in their manner and swift capable treatment. We could not have been more relieved and pleased. Furthermore on another occasion we had this dog and another groomed here, by Lindsay, and she did an wonderful job and both dogs have complicated coats. We are so pleased with our experience at this vet and grateful that such a small island has such consummate professionals.

The lovely team at Gulf Island Vet Clinic was so accommodating when I needed an urgent check up for a potentially serious situation. Even though the clinic was about to close for the evening, they made time to evaluate my dog to let me know if the situation required me to go off island immediately for ER care. I am so grateful for their care and attention. Thank you!

I get my little missy looked after here and dr. Oliver loves my little dog who has improved and not anxious and aggressive anymore. They have a great team to help you and your pet.

Incredibly helpful staff and knowlegeable vets! Our dog was on death's door and they managed to pull him through with love, compassion, insight and incredible personal care. They are highly respectful of our personal philosophy to health care for our animals, ensuring our pets have a high quality of life. I've never had a better vet!
