Willowbrae Childcare Academy New Westminster

Both of my children absolutely love Willowbrae. We have been with the New Westminster center for over 6 years now. The teaching staff is amazing - they are so caring, so responsive and have taught both of my children a great deal. Everyday my children leave the center very happy - all smiles. Highly recommend.

I have two kiddos at Willowbrae, one who has been attending since 2018. We are so lucky to have found this place. The teachers and staff are incredible. My kids love going to daycare and are never bored - the curriculum is awesome, they are constantly learning new things and doing loads of hands on activities and art projects. The teachers are caring and thoughtful and have been super professional and patient guiding my kids through some tough stages and behaviours.Communication is great - the teachers take time each day to let us know how the kids day was, funny things that happened, and anything we should know. They’ve done an incredible job responding to the pandemic and have great protocols. Thank you Willowbrae :)

My little one joined Willowbrae New West family when she was 11 months old, she had hard time in the beginning, I can not thank more than enough to the teachers and especially the director here for the support they provided. They are very well responsive since I was on waitlist, teachers are stable here as well, overall, great childcare academy, my daughter now runs into the school with a big smile everyday! That says it all !

It’s always stressful and worrying leaving your kids with strangers, but at Willowbrae New West they were so supportive and responsive to my child’s needs transitioning to a new school. The teachers and management are friendly, thoughtful and kid-centric. It’s a no brainer to send my second child here when I return to work! My oldest has learned so much here and grown so independent - happily helping around the house and taking care of his sibling ❤️

Recently had to transfer my littles (18m+ 3.5yo) to the Langley location, & we are so sad leaving the amazing staff at willowbrae new west! Both our boys started daycare at 10.5 & 11 months old & Christine (infant/toddler1 teacher) was so great with our boys that they transitioned very quickly. This was so helpful especially as first time anxious parents leaving our kids with someone other than family members.Our kids (& us) were always met with hi's" & smiles by all the teachers

Willowbrae Academy is a fantastic school and I would highly recommend it! We spent a lot of time researching daycares for our daughter all over the Burnaby and New West area and we realized that not only did Willowbrae offer everything we were looking for, but the reviews from other moms we spoke to were amazing! We started our daughter at the age of one here and she's flourished under their care. She comes home speaking new words, singing new songs, and telling us about her favorite activities at school. The teachers are very caring, thoughtful, provide great feedback on the development of our child every day and even have helped us through the potty training process to ensure consistency between home and school. I cannot recommend Willowbrae enough for parents looking to give their children a jump start toward advancing their early development.

My grandson just finished at this daycare yesterday. I cannot tell you how impressed we were with this facility.He has been coming here for 2 plus years now, they truly treat the kids like family, every single teacher has been wonderful. The care, attention, love and professionalism shown by not only the owner/director but all the teachers.During covid they were on top of all protocols, which was really nice to see.They have created such a warm , inviting space for children to learn in their early stages of schooling. The setup is awesome, very secure, and allows the kids to be ready for kindergarten when they graduate.They put on a wonderful graduation for all the graduates this year, very well done.I cannot say enough good things about this place, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to place their children’s here.

Our child has been attending Willowbrae for nearly 2 years now and we couldn’t be more thankful for the care he’s received. The teachers are thoughtful, attentive and kind. Management is quick to address questions and concerns. During his time at Willowbrae, our child has learned so much, grown in confidence and genuinely looks forward to attending every day!

Loretta Cheung was horrible to communicate with. Once I applied for a tour I received an email from Loretta saying that they are full at the moment but are taking registrations for Sep. 2023. My response was that we’re ok with waiting and if she could please send me all info so i can book a tour before officially registering my son. In her response she mentioned that she made a typo and meant to say that they take registrations for Sep 2024, to which i responded that we’re ok waiting until 2024 and asked again for all the info so i can book a tour. The response i got in her third email was just so frustrating, she said that they require a $50 registration fee. I responded by saying that we’re fine to wait until Sep 2024 and that the fee was no issue and asked again to book a tour. One week past and no response from her. I emailed her again saying if she could please let me know what is required to book a tour so i can register my son for Sep 2024, her response was that they’re booked all the way until 2025 and are registering for Sep 2025 in which my son at that point would be starting kindergarten. I am beyond shocked at how horrible and unprofessional she was. Definitely not a child care that i would want for my son.

My son currently attends this centre part time. We had been offered spots at other centres but this one had always been my first pick. I am glad we waited, because we are very happy with them. The director/principal is very responsive and I am very amazed how involved she is with the students. I see her visiting classrooms and always has a smile for the kids (and parents).My son is in their youngest group right now, he goes part time, and the teachers there are very patient with him and I am very impressed with how they handle him, as he is very attached to me. The cameras are an added asset as I can check-in once in a while to see if he's warmed up and/or is playing. They have such a beautiful playground as well, the pictures on google aren't updated as they actually put in some artificial grass, and what I like about it especially is that the big kids and little kids have their own separate play areas outside. I don't know much about the meals they serve but I am just glad it is part of the fee as my son is picky but seems to eat their food, so I'd say it's probably very good!They do have a long waitlist and we did have to wait longer than a year to get in, but it is definitely worth the wait and they were always upfront about it. In hindsight my only regret was not sending him fulltime.
