Days Inn by Wyndham High Prairie

Stayed here for work. Room service is great. Room is always cleaned on my return from work. Shower is hit or miss if it's going to burn your face off or freeze you. I ended up getting a smoking room, not by choice - they're busy it's all they had. My room heater wasn't working so they had a space heater blasting in my room. Room was about 700 degrees lower than what the sun is, on July 4 in Arizona. Couldn't control the temperature on the dang thing. Rooms and Hotel are high grade 2 star low 3 and the only way is anywhere near a 3 star is because the staff cleaning the place do great!!! breakfast is some cereal or muffins/ bagels and Apple and orange juice machine that the buttons don't work. Nothing crazy in the breakfast realm. The wifi..... Ugh don't waste your time connecting to it. It's straight out of 1996. In fact I think dial up was faster. Beds are firm, pillows are...... Cardboard and feathers. This hotel has always been a first choice for my company to send people but I don't know, she's not doing so good lately. 2/5 needs work.

I held a 13 person community meeting at this location. The meeting facility was okay but I found it hard to book the meeting and the rooms. They had a contract catering company and the food was so-so but the service was not what I expected. But, they are the only service hotel in the area with a meeting room in town. And with inside catering. I wish they could do better. The hotel was better a few years ago pre-pandemic so I'm not sure what changed.

WARNING: They charged me twice for a SINGLE night stay . It wasn't until i checked my online visa account transactions that I noticed this. When I called them, the clerk said, It was an accident." She said it was because I presented my card when I first came there. I did this because they need to see the card # for incidentals. They know this but tried to use it as an excuse for having been charged twice. Had I not checked my account and called the hotel about being wrongly charged I would have been charged 2 nights for a single night stay."

There isn't a lot of hotel choices in High Prairie. Room needed some maintenance (dirty grout, stains on carpet etc.) but the shower was exceptional.I was surprised when I asked the front desk for coffee creamer and was told no. The continental breakfast (calling it breakfast is being kind) needs to be shipped off the continent as it was severely lacking anything edible. We ended up going to A&W drive thru instead

For $130 a night !!!! Do not go here. Everything is old and dirty. Pillows and blankets are sand paper. Carpet had stains and old. WiFi is almost none existent. Refrigerator had condensation in it. No HDTV only SD. Washrooms are old and dirty. If renovations were ever done they would have been done in the 1980s. Management has the front counter person helping other staff while I wait 8 minutes at the counter and the manager can't dislodge her butt from the chair with clear site of me standing there? Spend your money at the place across the street and down the road. Disgusting. Hey you... Mr or Ms owner quit being such a tight wad and renovate properly. ..... it's been over 6 years since I wrote this and no one has replied. Tells you how much management either doesn't pay attention and or doesn't care.

Check in was great. The lady at the front desk was great to deal with.And it went downhill from there.....- terrible continental breakfast- air conditioning in the room barely worked- alarm clocks going off for extended periods of time for multiple days in a row- no water on the Friday and emergency crews were not calledin to address the issue.- main entrance was blocked off due to resurfacing the asphalt.

I was very pleased with the very easy & simple check-in, the cleanliness of the room, the breakfast offered and I found the customer service was outstanding from Elizabeth at the front desk. I hope the management realizes what a great ambassador and asset she is representing their business! The late night staff was also helpful when I requested something I forgot to bring.Hot water was plentiful even after the working crowd who leave early & arrive back late were done, you just had to wait a few minutes for it to run through all the pipes I guess, not unusual for most hotels with long hallways.I am surprised reading other reviews calling this place shabby, there was nothing shabby about the room I stayed in nor the breakfast room, or the lobby. I did notice the rug in the ground floor hallway where I stayed was quite worn but that has no bearing on my room quality or quality of service, so it really doesn't matter to me. I did not find the building exterior shabby either, the entire place was clean and lobby also.I did not use the restaurant as it was not open when I returned in the late evenings.I'd have given 5 stars except the breakfast experience could have been better if there was a sign on the fridge for instance saying there was pre-made, individually wrapped omelettes, sausage patties and boiled eggs available inside. I didn't discover that till the second morning. Same for jams - found in a cupboard rather than a container with them on the counter top. I would suggest more signage and a big 'help yourself' sign since most people won't snoop through the cupboards - I only did after someone else staying long-term told me where to find stuff.I would easily book and stay hear again.

This is a hard review for me to do since they were full and only had smoking rooms available. Only complaint I can think is that I wasn't told I was getting a smoking room. Fortunately they let me check out right away without charging me anything. If you want a smoking room this is probably a fine hotel.

Staff very unprofessional and air conditioning unit sounded like a freight train was driving through the room.
