Victoria Hospital Emergency Department

Worst experience ever in a hospital. Rude staff at the entrance, they need to understand that a person is in tremendous pain that is why is coming to emergency. There is no need to be rude. Also the diagnosis from doctor was incorrect.

Never again. You're better off treating yourself with rusty tools.The staff are talking about their intimate personal.. bedroom lives in the hallways out loud.. the doctors here aren't worthy of the name..If canadian health care was rated based on this emergency departments conduct it would be rated worse than most third world countries

I am only rating this a 5 because of the nurse and the doctor i saw in emerge and the very nice man who fitted me with a boot for my broken toe , all i can say is they treated me with the upmost kindness and respect and i made sure i said thankyou and how much i appreciated their help, I also would love to thank a lady i met named Christina who spent the whole time with me there , wheeling me in and out in a wheel chair , she was such a blessing and we had lots in common, i hope i could find her someday to have coffee such a beautiful soul, we talked for like 6 hours non-stop, Christina was with her daughter there, and its because of her and the nurse and doctor and the man that fitted me for my boot that i still have faith in humanity. Bless them . Now as for the receptionist and there was two that were extremely rude and ignorant and talked down to every patient that came in. I did your job for 7yrs and not once did i ever EVER treat patients with such disrespect no matter what pressure i was put under. This women was very nasty and would degrade anyone sitting in her chair, i twice had to tell her to stop talking to me like that, to which she just kept talking to me like a piece of garbage, this women has no right to even be in this line of work , and what's so ironic is have a security guard sitting in between the receptionist's, i wonder why, maybe because of the way shetreats people , She needs to be fired asap. I plan on further taking this up with the administration to see what could be done further. Kim L Griffiths

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE. I was told by my optometrist that I had signs of pressure in my head, causing my optic nerves to move.. or something.. he told me it was serious and to get it checked out to rule out signs of stroke or tumor..Well, I spent 11hours in emergency and finally got to see a doctor.. I told him I had concerns about CT and the dye due to previous bad reactions to medications, well he didn't answer any questions, he didn't even examine me or tell me if my symptoms were worthy of the risk or not, he essentially told me good luck then" and discharged me..I absolutely would have done a CT

My experience during the last visit was awesome. The staff were very friendly and professional.

I would rate lower if i could, I came here at 12:30am, it is now 9:30am i just got moved to the THIRD waiting room and have been told it will be quite a bit longer again. This is ridiculous, to say the least many patients with problems similar to mine who came after were attended to before. When I asked the receptionist she showed me sass saying we prioritize on life or death, when that clearly was not the case. the absolutely slowest workers you will ever see, they were chatting it up and playing games while they had so many patients waiting for their guidance. The receptionists show A LOT of attitude to the patients! Never coming back, but I will say the actual doctors are friendly... but you wont get to see them for about 10 hours:)

If I could give this a -13 I would horrible staff came in for a stab would to the palm refused to give me meds or ice seems like the ladies chatting is more important than there job

I had a severe ear infection and wasn't able to hear anything from my right ear. 4 hours of waiting, afterwards was lead into a room and told the doctor wont be seeing me for at least another 4 - 5 hours because there are alot of 'sick people', as if I showed up perfectly healthy and ready to party. I was also told to go seek a walkin clinic at 3 in the morning when they themselves wasted majority of time.Honestly, you're better of dying then wasting time here .

Worst experience of any hospital in my lifetime. The doctors and staff here don't care about their patients, it's abysmal.This place should be shut down.

Went there several times since June this year, with my family members and my own issue today. Unfortunately, each time a very long wait, and a horrible and dirty waiting room. Once inside however absolutely wonderful, dedicated staff, all of them and I am not saying this to offer fake praises, no one in my family works there. I am just grateful for the care we have received. Thank you!!
