Reflections

Karen was always attentive to our needs and wants and welcomed us with a genuinely open heart when learning our life's journey (loss of a child) that led us to her. While the options with Reflections are limited (given the price point), she always made an effort to accomodate - from shopping for a dress just for me to offering alternate wall displays for consideration. While I was thoroughly impressed with the maternity photos, I can't say I was as impressed with Karen or with my newborn session; I felt pressured to do things her way rather than the way I had envisioned. There were very few poses and many not capturing my family as well as expected, when compared to the outcomes of the maternity session. The newborn photos were very plain and the newborn photo reveal left me feeling as though the only opportunity I had to capture my baby boy had gone and I couldn't get it back. This, I discovered, is very much Karen's style - classic and traditional, which I was very disappointed with , given what we were trying to capture. When considering the process, the quality of photos, cost and the photographer herself, I wouldn't recommend Reflections Photo as there are many more affordable, better quality & accommodating photographers out there.

I would highly recommend Karen at Reflections Photography. She takes care of everything! From hair and makeup, to coordinating outfits and the perfect neutral setting. This is so ideal for newborn photos and/or family photos because you don’t have to worry about shopping for clothes, getting yourself ready, or making sure your house is clean. You show up, and she handles it all. She had adorable toys for my daughter to play with, and was so good at making her feel comfortable. The video footage she takes during the photoshoot is such a special touch as well. We loved watching the clips from our time with her. Karen makes it easy to enjoy the photoshoot and the time with your family.

As a mom, especially a new mom, it has been so nice to work with Karen! From hair and makeup, to coordinating family outfits, beautiful photographs and even installing the photos in your home, Karen truly provides a full service! Family photos can be overwhelming for moms but Karen takes the stress out of photos. The photos she takes are beautiful and timeless, not gimmicky like some newborn photographs. She is very kind, patient, makes you feel comfortable, and is so good with little ones as well. She is a very thoughtful person. Going above and beyond to think ahead about the area you are hoping to hang the portraits and coming to hang them herself is so helpful! She has thought of everything! We cherish the photos she has captured of our family and our little one loves looking at them as well. We have received so many compliments on the portraits she installed in our home. I would recommend Reflections photography to anyone looking for an amazing stress free family photography experience.

I recently just had a 6 month photoshoot with my son, and it was an absolutely amazing experience!Karen organized having a professional hair and makeup artist come to my house to get me ready. My makeup looked very natural, and I loved the way my hair turned out. I felt very pampered and didn’t have any stress about making sure I was ready.When we arrived at the studio Karen greeted us at the door. She had some beautiful outfits from her curated wardrobe pulled out for us to try on.Karen has a very calming presence making you feel very comfortable and relaxed. She had lots of cute toys for my son to play with, and did a great job of getting his attention but also getting candid shots.Karen has a fantastic attention to detail, and has really thought about everything...even the lights in the bathroom are automatic! Need I say more?The hardest part is booking the photoshoot, and after that Karen has thought through everything!10/10 would recommend booking a photoshoot with Karen!

Booking a newborn session with Karen was a solid decision! At first, I was unsure if I wanted to take newborn photos - however, after seeing Karen's work, I bit the bullet and booked a session with her. Karen was so great at making me and my baby girl feel comfortable. I was amazed (and relieved!) with how great she was at working with baby girl - she was soothing, calming, and gentle. The session was quick and efficient (I was in and out in 1-hour).The photos turned out AMAZING! Don't hesitate to book, I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience as always with Karen and the team. We have had our family photos completed by Reflections of Life Photography for 10 years now and are always elated at the results. Karen has an incredible talent in capturing the perfect moments with her camera and making the whole process fun. We never feel uncomfortable or unsure of the process, she is so easy to work with and wonderfully thoughtful. I had such an amazing experience working with Karen at Reflections for my little one’s 6 month sitter session! The entire process was so seamless and stress-free as Karen took care of literally every detail from beginning to end!She helped arrange for a professional stylist to come to my house the morning of our session to do my hair and makeup… I would 100% recommend this to anyone thinking of doing a session with Karen as not only did I feel and look amazing - it was also a bit of a treat to be pampered as well. Christine did such an incredible job and I was sad to have to wash my face and hair at the end of the day! (Haha)Karen greeted us at the door with a smile when we arrived and was very welcoming which instantly made me feel comfortable and more relaxed. Her studio was clean (spotless), modern and beautifully set up and decorated. It looks like something straight out of a magazine!She had so many gorgeous gowns to choose from and many adorable outfits for my little one too. The fact that I didn’t have to worry about what we both were going to wear prior to our session made me feel way more at ease and it was so nice to have such a wide variety of options to choose from.She explained her plans for our session before we got started and asked if there was any other shots I had in mind that we hadn’t done yet when we were almost finished which I really appreciated. I love that she had pretty much already thought of everything though as she was super organized and prepared for us.Karen was SO amazing with my son. She definitely has a way with babies because he just absolutely adored her. He loved the sound of her calm, soothing voice and she did such an amazing job at making him laugh and smile in order to capture such lovely candid shots of him and of us both together. He loved the fun and engaging toys she had for him to play with too which helped make everything flow so much more naturally.The video footage she took and shared on social media was such a wonderful added touch as well… It was nice to see clips of our time with her and to be able to share that with friends and family.I highly recommend booking a session with Karen - you’ll be so thankful that you did!She captured such beautiful moments in photos that I’ll cherish forever. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her!

I came across Karen and the Reflections studio based on Google search results and I couldn't be happier that I found Karen and her company. We have had the pleasure of working with Karen for both our maternity and newborn photos. Karen guided us through the process with her full service offering (hair and makeup for Mom, wardrobe, home studio for photos, image reveal, printing of the selected images, designing the wall that would be the new home for our prints and installation of the prints). We appreciate the time Karen took with us leading up to the photo shoots as well as during and after. Karen's proactive planning and attention to detail made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. We can't wait to work with Karen again for our son's 1st year photos!

This is going to be an emotional review - just a heads up!Ever since I was a little girl I wanted those picture perfect family photos. You know, the ones that you would see above the fire place at your friends or families houses... This experience has brought that childhood dream to life for me and MY family that I always wanted. I was so impressed with Karen and how she radiates good vibes. Karen does everything you could ask to make you comfortable while in her company as well as giving you as much detail as possible in order to prepare for this experience. I booked our photo shoot after a couple of months into my pregnancy and from then on we kept in contact and I could not wait for the day. Karen had us come ahead of time to pick out what we wanted to wear so everything would be clean and ready for us when we got to our photo session. Hair and makeup was also arranged for me and I have never loved my hair and makeup more than I did that day. I should note there were more than enough clothing options to choose from. Upon arrival to our photo session she made us feel like family and had all the baby needs ready for us such as a change pad, diapers, wipes, etc. Those little details are what help us feel more relaxed and more at home and less in a studio". Karen also shoots behind the scenes videos that in themselves are so magical they are worth more than money can buy. I HIGHLY recommend Karen and her team for your family or maternity photos you will NOT be disappointed."

I don’t know if I can properly express how happy I am with the full experience that Karen has given us. I was overwhelmed, tired and forgetful (like most moms) but booking the first year collective with Karen took all the planning and preparing off my shoulders. I didn’t have to worry about anything. Hair and makeup taken care of as well as a beautiful wardrobe to choose from. Karen is so supportive and made me so comfortable even when I wasn’t feeling my best. Ultimate hype girl! Christine (hair and makeup) is also amazing and makes you feel so beautiful!Gorgeous studio, so bright and clean.Our toddler loved the toys available to play with and Karen and Christine were both so patient and kept her entertained and laughing. She couldn’t wait to come back and “play again” . She can be nervous and shy but Karen radiates kindness and this made her feel comfortable right off the bat, which led to capturing beautiful pics that show her true personality and smile.Karen is also a baby whisperer and took all the stress out of the newborn shoot,helping us keep our newborn happy, calm and comfortable. We never felt rushed or stressed.All this led to beautiful pictures we are in love with and will cherish forever.I am so happy we booked with Karen. Best decision and investment we could have made and I am so happy I have these beautiful memories captured!Cannot recommend enough! Can’t wait for our next shoot!
