Sylvan Learning of Markham

I had my daughter enrolled at Sylvans. I came to this tutoring center after having a bad experience with the Kumon center in Markham. I told the issues I had with how my child was not progressing at Kumon to the teachers at Sylvans and they promised me they would get my child who was before receiving B-'s and B's in school to A's. After months of taking my daughter to Sylvans, I saw minimal progress, certainly not enough progress for what I was paying for. I wanted to remove my daughter from Sylvans and place her into Tutor STEM, where she currently is being tutored, but the teachers there forced me to stay for the remaining month. No matter how much I tried to reason with them they would not remove my child without billing me for the entire month. Not fair. I'm so glad I switched to the tutoring center I am taking my daughter to now, I'm seeing faster progress and she is receiving A's at school. I will definitely not be recommending anyone to Sylvans after my experience!

As a context: our son is taking prep classes for SAT. The team is very professional and friendly...with a great customer experience...always providing feedback and answering any questions/concerns. The teacher is very knowledgeable and seems to genuinely care about improving our son's skills and performance. Our son is halfway through his program and we already see a good improvement in his scores. Strongly recommend.

We enrolled my son at Sylvan Markham for help with his math. From day one, I have found them to be professional and responsive. They worked with us to find a suitable time, that would fit our schedule, and they did their best to match my son up with an excellent teacher, who my son works very well with. Within a few weeks of joining, my son was coming home with very high test scores in math. The tutoring not only helped to improve his grade in math, but it also helped improve his confidence. I am very happy that we chose Sylvan Markham for my son and I highly recommend them.

I joined Sylvan to prepare myself for the pre-IB entrance test. Sylvan provided me with great material and assistance to practice and prepare for this test. The teachers were kind and helpful. I got accepted to all the IB schools I applied for thanks to this program.Overall, I would definitely recommend Sylvan to those wanting to prepare for the pre-ib entrance test.

We are very pleased with the online Summer Camp program that we received from Sylvan Learning of Markham for my child. Good quality material and interactive learning sessions with a variety of activities has definitely boosted my child's confidence and interest in learning, especially for online classes in the present situation. My daughter and son both went to Sylvan Markham for around 1 year now, they enjoyed the classes very much & learned many new kinds of study skills. The materials & class arrangement was good, well prepared, with good teacher & support.

I can't say enough great things about Sylvan! Small group setting and the tutoring is based on Sylvan's assessment of where the child's weaknesses are. My son has improved multiple grade levels in reading, writing and mathematics. I've tried other tutoring services before and was very disappointed. Sylvan helped my son achieve higher levels quickly and the tutoring staff is patient and very knowledgeable. The result; my son enjoys school much more and his self esteem has increased dramatically. I highly recommend them!

My son started Sylvan only 2 months ago and he loves it! He is enjoying his lessons, and loves interacting with his teachers. Although he is in a virtual class, he is thriving and learning in his custom-designed tutoring program. If you have a child who needs to improve certain school subjects, or is looking for a challenge, Sylvan is an excellent place to go!

My daughter has been with Sylvan for a little over 2 months and she loves it! She loves her teacher Mr. A and enjoys every lesson she has. I've already seen an improvement in her reading, writing and math. I highly recommend Sylvan.
