Blast It!
I recently brought a bicycle frame and fork to sandblast at Blast It! and was quite happy with the whole experience. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and had the place to myself. Scott helped guide me through the process, answered my questions, and suggested blasting media. The blasting cabinets were in good shape and were quite easy to use. My frame was already raw, but I wanted to remove soot, flux remnants, and to make the finish more uniform. The frame took me about 15 minutes with glass beads and it turned out nicely. Other than a few marks I had made sanding down the fillet brazes, the finish became very smooth and uniform. While I am not an expert painter, I expect that primer will bond easily to this surface. The fork was powder coated and while I was able to remove it with sand, I decided it was too time consuming to strip the fork down to raw steel. I scuffed the paint up all over -- except the steer tube, which will be hidden from view. This took me about 10 minutes. From this one experience, I was quite impressed: I will likely be back. My only word of caution would be to have an understanding of the material you are dealing with -- powder coat, for example, takes a long time to remove!

Go here and use the big machine! It costs a bit more but is so fast. Also super friendly and great service. Don’t waste your time and money with a home cabinet unless you have a huge compressor and industrial blast gun.

Fast and easy to learn. Never sand blasted previously but the tutorial lesson I was given made it so easy to figure out. It's just like spraying paint really. 3 panes of glass blasted both sides in about 20 mins for about 50 bucks. I was really happy with whole experience!

about to bring my 3rd bicycle frame to blast, after 2 good experiences. sure beats sanding forever! reasonable pricing, and I don't even know where else to go in town that I can sandblast myself. the equipment is easy to use, a lot of space in the shop, and friendly service. i had sandblasted before so it was a breeze, but a friendly note to anyone who hasn't before, just take your time to get it the way you want it, ask for help if you need it as it will be available, and have a bit of a plan before you go if you're watching your pocketbook. tape off areas that you don't want worn down (like threads on a bike frame etc).

Very convenient place! I have a daily driven vintage 380Sl and whenever I have rusty parts to repaint Blast It! has me covered. I do recommended bringing your own hearing protection.

Blast it is a great place to take your rusty old metal and make it new again..I took my old Delta wood lathe down to Blast It and in just over an hour had blasted (glass beads) off 60 years of crud, rust and old paint and had it all prepped for new paint. Scotty gave me a hand getting setup, guided me thru it and let me go to town on the parts..even texted me to tell me I'd left a small pc behind at his shop..will definitely be taking some other items down on my next trip to Victoria to have them sandblasted as its a HUGE time saver over sanding down parts.
