I saw Dr hay in 2016 for an eye issue that got flagged in a pre employment medical for my dream job. After one or two visits the DR told me that not only could I never follow in the career that I was pursuing, but I would likely be blind in 5-10 years. I was 24 years old, and this news crushed me. She did not have a diagnosis, she had not done genetic testing. It was only in Nov 2021 I finally got my diagnosis, and yes due to my condition one day I may go blind, but the genes that are effected indicate it likely won't be for a long time. And, I am fine to pursue whatever career I want.Dr. Hay's irresponsible prognosis put my career on hold for years. It ruined my confidence in myself, it sent me into a depression, it CRUSHED me. I still struggle, even now being told it will take much longer than that for me to go blind, I lived with that for years. TerrifiedShame on you Dr Shame on you

Dr. Hay gave my mother (91) the kindest and most skilled care. Then the office staff were friendly and professional, putting Mom's fears to rest. We are extraordinarily fortunate to have a retinal specialist in Nanaimo. Thank you Dr. Hay!

Dr. Haye has not been working at the 1650 Terminal Mall for some time. At least as a patient of several years. I have not seen her there lately. I still go once a month for treatment and the service is so poor there I am sad at what has happened to her thriving business. We can not blame poor service, poor organizing, and appointment planning, poor telephone responses, without regard for the patients... on COVID. COVID DOES NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 12:15 noon and have the door locked from 12:pm till 2 pm and expect a patient to sit outside while the office inside is totally shut down for those 2 hours. And yes, the IS NO ONE answering the phone. I happened to arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment at about 2 minutes to 12 and my driver waiting in the car said the outside door was locked at 12 with a sign saying closed to 2 oclock. Inside, I sat from 12 oclock until after 2 oclock with about 4 other neglected patients for over 2 hours and no one was working or showed a face or they disappeared and went out for lunch for over 2 hours. So what happened to my 12.15 appointment I drive in from Parksville and pay a driver $30 a hour so I can wait in a car or inside for over 2 hours for NOTHING. Sorry Dr. Haye but maybe you should wonder in and have a look about what is happening to your building.

Went in with a vitreous hemmorage in my eye and she was very nice and explained everything step by step on how they were.going to treat it.
