The Has Bin

i got some fabulous stuff here. the staff member on duty did a great job of navigating a busy store/people doing drop offs - they were fabulous. can't wait to go back! heads up - masks required in store, so bring one :)

Every time I’ve been in, it’s always a nice and relaxed environment. The staff are super helpful if you’re looking for something in particular or you’re left to just browse if you prefer. Clothes are in great shape, great variety of styles and sizes and well-priced. It’s a bonus for me that masks are still required since it is a smallish space.

Great pieces for reasonable prices. The store was nice and the person checking out my items was friendly. However the store layout was slightly confusing for first timers because there is a back section, but you cannot go too farther back as that it there workshop /inventory area. However this is not made explicit through signage in the store. When my friend and I accidentally went into these areas in the store we were told that it was the back as if it was common sense and it was not. Moreover when we entered the store the employees were chatting with a few customers and we were looking through the items , and when the customers left the employees walked right past us and did not even ask if we needed help with anything or if it was our first time at the store. Moreover, along with inadequate signage for which area is for sale and what isn’t, there are snarky comments around the CD area saying that you should pick up after yourself because the employees are not your mom and anyone who doesn’t is smelly and rude. These are meant to be funny but they are not light hearted because it makes customers afraid to approach employees. I’m all for putting things back where they belong but that could be expressed in a more professional way. I will be coming back to the Has bin once in awhile BUT the store could benefit from employees with a friendlier and approchable demeanour and increased professionalism. Would I recommend the has bin to others? Yes but only if you go in looking for stuff on your own and bracing yourself for employees chatting with regulars and friends and walking past you whilst looking through clothes. Expect to go into the has bin looking for things without guidance or interaction from the employees. 4/5 stars but if this improves I’ll give it 5/5.

I love shopping here and also love consigning my clothes! Fair prices, great location and I love the different things Bee carries in her shop from local artists.Great presence on social media with daily updates on the opening of the shop/the hours for the day (it doesn’t change much maybe by an hour or so if something comes up) and different outfits put together with clothes from the shop.Definitely a queer friendly spot and they have no gendered sections or changing room. Anyone can shop here and feel comfy ☺️

Absolutely stellar shop, lovely staff, great selection, fair pricing, with plenty of options for all fashion senses and needs. Endlessly grateful for their swap and drop, as well as their fabric section. Best place to shop for killer outfits!

I love love LOVE shopping at The Has Bin. They have a great selection of plus size clothing (which a lot of vintage/thrift stores don't have), some incredible locally made goodies like stickers and rugs, and they have cute vintage housewares. The store is always so welcoming and cozy to be in and it really makes me feel great knowing that we have such a fantastic place here in Halifax.

This is my favourite thrift shop I’ve found so far in Halifax. I love the wide selection, the prices are so affordable for the prices your getting. The store is nicely decorated and feels homey, warm and welcoming upon entering. The shop owner is incredibly kind and helpful 12/10 ✨

Cool clothes, welcoming environment, kitschy/fun decor and very reasonable prices! Definitely one of the most unique shopping experiences in Halifax, plus you can grab a cute coffee at Glitter Bean downstairs.

Love this store! Great selection of second hand clothing and some cool stuff by local makers as well. Love that they show they care about their community by doing things like having a Pay It Foward Fund, and continuing to request masking. It's a great local business to support

I absolutely love visiting The Has Bin. Size inclusive, gender inclusive, and the friendliest staff. I always find something cool when I'm there. As a plus size girl looking for stylish clothing at a bargain, this place is amazing. A Halifax gem for sure. ❤️❤️
