This publication blocks community members from participating in public discourse on their social media posts by closing comments on topics they anticipate will be “divisive” or have competing opinions. They also have a history of blocking specific community members from accessing/seeing their posts on social media when the opinions/ideas being expressed are of a differing and/or counter perspective to the one being offered by their writers.You would hope a local news publication would be more open to diverse opinions and promote critical conversation to foster growth in curiosity with regards to local, community-level issues. Unfortunately this is not the case with the KingstonistEdit: original review referred to Kingstonist as public news when it’s really more of a news-based, independent blog

Forget having an opinion with these guys, if they don't agree with you, they will remove you and block you from their FB page and their other page 'make it home YGK' Will wait on their absurd reply to my review, where I guarantee you it'll be false news.

I really enjoyed this for the first number of years, and was a financial contributor, after it started. Local news in a timely fashion. I have no issue with the pay wall now, as they surely need to run a business, but its reporting took a hard left turn. They block people on Twitter and Facebook, or restrict comments they don't agree with.Not appropriate. Sorry.
