Karen Patching designed my family's home in Okotoks in 2014. Not only do we think she did a great job, others do too: When I'm working in the front yard I frequently hear from passers by that our home is their favourite house on the block.Karen is an accomplished professional; she is knowledgeable; she works hard; she is easy to work with. Our community association was attempting to apply for a grant to refurbish an old kitchen turning it into a bright, new commercial quality kitchen. Karen had many great ideas and her experience in designing commercial space showed through time and time again. Working with her, electricians, plumbers, contractors and regulators, our association was able to put together a solid grant application with “best estimate” quotations finalizing our grant. Although we were not successful in obtaining that grant, we are ready with all the drawing, numbers and estimates for the appropriate grant to come along. Karen was professional, helpful and listened to our concerns, comments and issues with a community-based building. When we are ready to move forward, we will certainly be engaging Karen.
