SPCA Ouest

I have donated to them in the past but I never receive a tax receipt. Not last year or before that. Spoke to a Remi, who seemed nice, but promises aren't kept. Guess I will donate to the Montreal SPCA instead..I have proof that i donated. How can i not be in the database? You sent confirmation of donation receipt on December 19, 2019. I am NOT being deceitful here.EDITED on December 40, 2020After communicating with Remi, I decided to try 1 more time. Within seconds, I got my receipt for $150 donation. We rescued Leo in February 2020. As this was our first dog, we were very new to all of this. We had so many questions and your staff was incredible. They asked all the right questions of us and were incredibly patient (we spent over 3 hours there), and honest in their responses to our many inquiries. We left knowing that we had made one of the best decisions for our family.We are forever grateful.

We will always support the SPCA in this home! The work they do for the animals of our city is beyond amazing and i could never thank them all enough. We just recently adopted our second cat with them and she is absolutely perfect. It is clear they only allow the highest quality animal lovers to work in their locations.

I adopted my cat Po 6 years ago and my family and I love him so much! He was an adult cat (approx. 1.5 years old) when we fell in love with him. I would not hesitate to adopt another animal at the SPCA Ouest. Their facilities are clean and the animals are well cared for. There are different animals with different ages.

My wife and I were nervous to try this location because of all the negative reviews. But, there was a dog there which we could not pass up the opportunity of meeting. I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and professionalism, of the employee who was serving us. All of our questions and concerns were answered, and all information on the dogs behavioral tendencies were clearly detailed. We felt confident in what to expect if we adopted. Although the dog was a lot bigger than we expected, we ended up taking him home that night. We found the perfect match for us and could not be happier. I feel that the difference between a positive review and a negative, is all in which employee you deal with, and not the organization as a whole.

I adopted a 2 y/o beautiful cat from the SPCA a little over 2 months ago.She was perfectly healthy, except for missing teeth and a fractured canine tooth.Everything was going amazingly well, until it was not. Two weeks ago, she was not eating as much (which I initially thought was because I changed her food) and was sleeping much more and in very odd places.I rushed her to the veterinary hospital when I saw she starting being so weak she had trouble landing a jump from the couch. There, they discovered she had a heart murmur which was NOT disclosed to me in her SPCA examination.A blood test later revealed she had Leukemia, and nothing but a blood transfusion would make her feel better - which would only buy her time until she would grow very sick again. Per the vet's strong advice, we put her down that day.Very soon after this, I contacted the SPCA as I was concerned. Concerned her murmur and condition were purposefully undisclosed to me. Concerned for the other cats that were also at the SPCA during her stay may have contracted the Leukemia virus. Concerned other adopted cats and their families would have to go through such unexpected and difficult circumstances.Ten days after contacting them, I have yet to receive a response.Words cannot describe my disappointment in this nonprofit organization - these events make me strongly question their authenticity and transparency.***Edit after reading the owner's comments:1 - The SPCA in fact did not reply to each of my correspondences. After reaching out to them by email again, as I had not received a reply, the owner replied that I should check my SPAM folder for their initial reply... Nothing was there. I told them this, and was left without an answer again.2 - The SPCA told me the pet's health was only guaranteed" up to 10 days after the adoption. My cat was succumbing to a fatal disease - unless you have discovered a miraculous treatment no one else in the animal medical field has

After losing our dog Micca - she was a rescue and we had her for 15 really great years - we had an empty house for 6 months... and we were finally ready for a new dog. We went to the SPCA West Island and there we found the latest addition to our family. Luna is a Husky/Malamute mix and the people at SPCA were really great. No pressure, they let us take Luna for a walk, spend some time with her outside and she had had all her shots and was in great shape. I would highly recommend getting a rescue dog, giving them a home, there are always great dogs to chose from. Nice staff as well

Such a nice caring people working there. They accepted to take a cat that I’ve found regardless of the fact that the city that I live doesn’t have an affiliation with the SPCA. They even put the cat on Facebook trying to find the owner. I know the cat is in good hand and will find a new owner.

We found the newest member of our family here!! The staff is well trained and all the animals are very healthy and well taken care of.
