I was only there to repair a power wheelchair. But staff and those managing the church were fantastic. Very happy greeting and fair protocols to enter.

Sermons and good works (such as Sanctuary and support of immigrants) is the reason for giving a 2-star review with the rest based on the ongoing overt and/or covert poor treatment of other people. This review is done in love and to empower. A recently shared story raised the importance of doing this review, and did the math – at least 4 decades, best to my knowledge, of damaging occurrences. Thus it is not only me, what I have seen done to others and empathized with, or those I personally know sharing their stories; consequently, it cannot be passed off as once in a blue moon or rarity - it is an ongoing problem. The good news is that we can be in the process of positive change and transformed by His love. People chose not to speak up out of fear, which doesn’t promote change. Guilty, I now choose to speak up. Initially, the perception was that those who are not Dutch are recipients of such treatment; however, it is clear it can be anyone. Church community is seen as the ideal place to be loved and accepted, to learn and grow, to feel safe, and so on…. Coming out of the holidays and start of a new year - a time marked for new beginnings – we reflect on the birth of Christ and reminders of Jesus’ walk and message to us. One of the most important is to love your neighbour as yourself. Through prayer and reflection, one reason some members treat others poorly, whether in or outside of church community, is the thought that they do not love themselves; hence, a lack of self-love and unhappiness can be transferred to others. So, send love to, forgive, and release those who engage in these negative behaviours, and, love yourself by having healthy boundaries and partake in positive relationships. God bless.
