Wow! This is a nice and quiet spot. Can do a nice sun tanning here and enjoy some nice quiet time. Went here on the weekend and pretty much was the only person there. Minimal bugs too. Parking can be a challenge as the other side of the beach is popular for BBQs

Such a beautiful place to have an easy stroll or part of your jog route. Felt like your far away from the Newton-style parking lot (100 M away). Peaceful spot.

Innumerable species of migratory and native birds frequent this uniquely isolated slice of the southern peninsula. Large parking lot with adjacent overflow effectively guarantees parking availability. Open landscape with one small hill, surrounded by easily navigated, well maintained trails that steadily snake throughout the tidal marsh making for an unparalleled birdwatching location for any and all nature enthusiasts. For views of Vancouver and Mud Bay, Blackie Spit Pier is less than 5 minutes walk from the core of Savenye Environmentally Sensitive area.

Savenye Environmentally Sensitive Area
A peaceful place of conservation, dedicated to the man who worked to preserve it. In the early evening, the soon-to-be-setting sun bathed the land in gold and the waters of the surrounding bay were still as glass. It was so serene, watching and listening to the many ducks along the shore. The trees were turned out in their fall colors; so much beauty, yet ours alone to enjoy on this special evening.
