The little white house learning centre
As a parent who put my kid (3 years old) to this place. This is an exceptional day care (learning center, as it also offers language school on Saturday, and various summer and winter camps). My kid went to two day cares (probably should call them zoos than day cares) before she settled down at the little white house. Based our experience for over one year (my wife and my in-laws’ feedbacks) this is the best day care. The head instructor Subie is very patient and really love teaching children. The two most important qualities for a good teacher where it is so hard to find from most of the day cares (in the other day care, I literally saw two instructors in one room full of kids playing on their cellphones without talking to the kids or each other for 5 minutes.Class size is small, normally 2-4 kids per instructor, and only in summer period I have seen two instructors, so every child got the attention from the teacher. The program is surprisingly well organized, with well-planned theme activities (craft, story, painting, cultural events like Chinese New Year). The center is converted from a historical house, so it is very spacious both inside and outside (vast greenspace for kids to play in the summer, vs the other daycare only has fenced parking lot converted play pad, sure some other day cares claimed to have gym, but with mass of crowd, on an individual basis, you kid will luck to have 10 mintues gym time). Trilingual teaching (English most of the time, Mandarin and Cantonese on as required or asked basis by parents) is a big bonus, to be honest this is not a selling point to me in the beginning, I was not expecting my kids to master Chinese at this young age, but what she learnt from this day care did lay a good foundation for future language development. The center is well kept inside out, you can tell it is very clean by just checking out the bathroom. My kid was attending the other day care before and she was constantly sick (flu and hand-foot-and-mouth), after we switched to little white house she has been very healthy for over an year. After our horrified experience with other day care my wife spent extra effort to make sure this is a good day care for our kid, and we were luck to find this place. One very important thing, unlike the other day cares, the little white house doesn’t require fixed contract, probably they are NGO, or maybe they are just very confident about the quality of the services. My wife was putting our kid on a part time basis to try out the center, and now our kid is on full time basis which is on monthly fee but no contract needed. I guess most day cares love your money more than your kids, which is fine but I am not fine with just love the money but ignore the kids.My kid just had her birthday party at the little white house, in addition to the balloon and cake we brought, instructor Subie gathered other goodies and put on a good birth day party with the rest children together (I will try to cover the faces of the people and upload the photo later). Again, without a real heart to love the kids and her job no instructor will go out the way to organize such party (not to mention a present to my kid). At the end, I am not the one to determine if little white house is a good place or not, but I asked my three-year-old many times and she always responded she likes the place and want to go to little white house in the morning.Enough said, I am sure our second kid will attend little white house once she is old enough. And little white house also offers language school on Saturday and various camps, I am sure my kids will attend those when they are older.P.S. if you want to avoid the zoos (day cares), please email me, I will share you the names so you don't end up putting your kids in them.
