4.2/5We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon. Reservations are prioritized but they also take walk-ins. It’s a clean and quiet space with a relaxing atmosphere. The food is good. We tried the 1) Cantonese Chow Mein, 2) Pan Fried Turnip Cake With Conpoy & Chinese Preserved Meat, 3) Black Truffle Pork & Shrimp Dumplings (Shumai), 4) Supreme Shrimp Dumplings (Har gow), 5) Pork Spare Ribs in Garlic & Black Bean Sauce. The meat and seafood had great texture and flavour. Better than we’d expected. Yum! I would not order the pork spare ribs again but otherwise happy with our choices. The dim sum ranges from $7-12 per dish. I would not recommend coming to anyone seeking the best value for money, but we were happy to pay a bit extra for the convenience and peaceful atmosphere as well as the cleanliness. If you like lobster, they have a variety of dishes with lobster!

1. Attitude: This is very different from other authentic Chinese restaurants as it has very good customer service, they are very nice and communicative here!! They are very consistent in asking you if you’re ready to order and removing the empty 蒸籠 from the table.2. Taste: The food is quite tasty and has some new upgraded dim sum compared to the original kinds. The prices are pretty good.3.They have good sustainable 打包 containers for takeout and the ordering is simple.4. Atmosphere: the atmosphere is so good, nice shade so that lighting comes it but not too much. And the music is great as well, slow piano/instrumental/jazz.5. Just good, TRY THIS OUT IT IS SO TASTY!!!

Located inside of Atrium on Bay ground floor. Easily accessible by TTC at Dundas station.Service is attentive. The pigeon is good and worth it.The lamb stew is also great. It’s a staple for winter weather. The lobster is mediocre, I probably won’t order again. The desert is better than I thought. If you have room for desert, give it a try. The mango flavour is delightful, sweet and fragrant.

My mother-in-law insisted on coming here. She came with friends and loved it so much, she wanted us to try it as well. The food is excellent here. Very unique touches to classic dim sum dishes. Like instead of roe on the shao mai"

Ordered 9 dishes, each ranging from $7 to $23 (and tea- $2/pp); the most we’ve paid for Dim Sum but we appreciated the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the space. We went at opening (11AM)- there were still lots of seating when we were leaving and the service was fairly good. Minor hiccups with forgetting a few dishes we ordered and some language barrier, but it was addressed right away. Unfortunately, they it seems they haven’t had a working washroom for a while, so you have to walk to the one available in the plaza, 5 mins away. Our favourite dishes were the fried bean curd (available on a separate dining menu), the lobster dumplings and the egg yolk sesame balls, which all had a unique touch. We would likely only come back for special occasions, and/or for select dishes available via takeout.

Liked the calm and quiet for a dim sum place. They have a full menu that looked really good as well but just wanted a dim sum lunchThought the dim sum was okay. It felt like the food had been sitting for a while and dry. Chicken feet was a bit bland. Wouldn't get the mushroom bean curd, very oily and just taste of fried batter. The scallop and shrimp dumpling tasted very pasty and the wrapper is very thickThe supreme shrimp rice roll, shrimp cake and squid was good but nothing special behind themThe ambiance is nice and that reflects the higher dim sum prices

Hands down my favourite Chinese restaurant in downtown Toronto. Food is delicious and authentic , the presentation is also outstanding. This is my family’s go to restaurant for all occasions we usually always get their fried lobster and my favourite their famous oysters , their duck and fish are good too but it’s a bit pricey . The service there is excellent, I always call ahead to make reservations and let them know I have a baby with a big stroller /bassinet they are always accommodating and give us plenty of room which I really appreciate. Wilson is my favourite he always recommends the best dishes like the black chicken herbal soup and the fish . Wilson is super friendly and knowledgeable ! If you are looking for quality food and service in a nice atmosphere this is definitely the place . The only suggestion I would make is that sometimes they don’t answer their phone because their too busy so you have to keep trying .

I've been wanting to try out Moon Palace since it opened, especially since I had previously dined at its predecessor, Spring Rolls. I finally ventured to do so this past Friday. In general, I would say that despite the cost, it was a worthwhile experience!Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately impressed by its décor and ambiance. The restaurant had a great combination of modern and traditional cultural elements, with lots of soft colours, all in a bright atmosphere. (Although, I'd like to note that such furnishings are actually quite normal in modern shopping mall or hotel restaurants in Chinese cities, but not often seen at Chinese restaurants here in North America.) Soon after we were seated, the servers proactively and enthusiastically introduced some of the dishes to us. They were generally polite and could communicate in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. The level of service remained a notch higher than the average Chinese restaurant throughout the meal.Aside from the furnishings and service, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered the roasted duck, the house fried rice, and two types of dim sum. The roasted duck was well prepared. The duck skin had a good level of crispiness and it came with just the right amount of wraps. The second dish of the roasted duck order, which consisted of bones/carcass, had a big portion and was quite tasty. I was also impressed that the server showed us the duck in its entirely before it was sent to be cut. The house fried rice had some interesting ingredients and came in the shape of a mountain, which was quite special. And the dim sum dishes came in hexagonal steamer baskets. Last but not least, the tea was served in beautiful china teacups with handles, which I liked better than those without handles typically found at Chinese restaurants. I would say the amount of food would have been enough for three people and the two of us ended up having leftovers for takeout. The only issue that I had with the restaurant was that the washrooms were apparently under maintenance, and I had to use the washrooms in the mall/atrium, which were out of the way one storey below and hard to find. I hope they finish the maintenance work soon.In all, our meal was not cheap - it came at around $80 per person after taxes and tips, although arguably that could have been reduced had we not ordered either the fried rice or the dim sum dishes and we would had still been full. Furthermore, if you come here just for dim sum, then I suppose the bill would be significantly lower. The $80 meal was definitely not a level that I would often have given my current income, and I am unlikely to have a meal at this price level again anytime soon. However, given the quality of the roasted duck and the other elements of this restaurant, I would still highly recommend it - it is a great place for an occasional splurge, and there are still ways to make the meal more affordable!

Got the lobster set menu for 4 which had 6 courses including the Signature Typhoon Lobster and also added an order of the fried cantonese noodles.Although the lobster was big and very fresh, honestly it wasn’t that flavorful which is the reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 (sorry!) The seasoning was very plain. It does not compare to Fishman Lobster at all, although this place is not as expensive as the latter.Best thing for me was the abalone! To die for! Chicken and mushrooms was good, everything else was good/okay. Fried rice was served last of the 6 courses. For those wondering, bill came out to $320 before tips. (They charge you extra depending on the weight of the lobster)Portion size is just enough, probably nothing left over.Still interested to come back for dimsum.
