I am happy to report that Rocky Mountain Holidays did a fabulous job of planning our trip through the Canadian Rockies. Every transport that we needed was arranged in advance. Every lodging that was needed was ready and waiting for us. And, every excursion that had been advertised was accomplished without a hitch. Even the weather, which had been forecast to turn bad, relented and stayed lovely the whole time!We are especially grateful to to our tour director, Mr. Tom Ockelton, for his cheerful attitude through the months that preceded our wonderful experience, all the way up to the present. In spite of many questions and inquiries about special accommodations for four aged (ancient?) travelers, there was never a hit of impatience from him.In closing, we highly recommend Rocky Mountain Holidays as a Number One tour company. We were delighted all the way through, and we're sure that you will be too!

The Rocky Mountain Holidays team organised a superb holiday for myself and my wife and some close friends who live in Canada. Coming from NZ we relied heavily on the RMH team for their advice and to make all the arrangements. I must admit I was concerned about all the different transitions involved, convinced that one would go awry but the whole thing worked perfectly thanks to the many people involved. On the advice of RMH we travelled by train to Jasper, then by bus to Lake Louise and a further bus trip to Banff. Everything went extremely well to make it a trip of a lifetime. Amazing scenery, friendly helpful people all along the way and superb accommodation. Big thanks to our agent, Tom, who did a superb job for us and made everything work so well together. Our first trip to Canada but I am sure it will not be our last.

I enjoy making my own travel plans however Canada was unknown territory for me and I contacted Rocky Mountain Holidays for assistance. Our Rocky Mountain holiday plans began in July 2019, for travel in July 2020. This was the best vacation of my life and at 75 one could comment on many vacations. The planning was impeccable while the service was truly laudable. The scenery and vistas were incredible. We booked the gold leaf Rocky Mountaineer train service (so worth it!), the Vancouver hotel, and extended days in Banff with multiple day trips through Tom to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and our daughter's college graduation. The three of us had a wonderful trip and appreciated that all the details were handled by the agency. We even extended our trip by a day after paying off the trip and Tom quickly booked our hotel and car pickup change. We booked our special retirement celebratory holiday with Rocky Mountain Holidays for ourselves and our friends, and from the first contact we had with Tom we knew we were in good hands.We booked the Rocky Mountaineer train gold leaf Grand Circle tour followed by a 7 day Alaskan cruise with Holland America. The train experience was beyond 5 star with copious amounts of excellent food and drink and friendly helpful and professional crews not to mention the amazing views.Unfortunately before we could set off on the cruise my wife contracted Covid so we emailed Tom for help and advice and even though it was at the weekend he had it sorted out within an hour, therefore we believe going above and beyond.A truly first class service.

While most people celebrate their 50th anniversary doing something special, we ended up celebrating our 51st! That wasn’t our original plan but COVID had other ideas. I originally scheduled a Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver to Banff trip for September 2021 with three other couples. I saw a video on YouTube singing the praises of Tom Okelton at Rocky Mountain Holidays and made the fortuitous decision to contact him to make arrangements. Through border closures, COVID rules, health issues and postponements, Tom was there redoing what had to be redone and reassuring me as we navigated around the obstacles. One of our traveling companions theorized that Tom never slept, he was that responsive to emails. While our trip ended up being just four of us because of unavoidable circumstances, it was definitely a celebration to remember and, thanks to Tom and Rocky Mountaineer, one that played out flawlessly.Recommendation one: Work with Tom Ockelton, Rocky Mountain Holidays, for your travel needs.Recommendation two: If you can possibly swing it and don’t have mobility issues, go with the Gold Leaf versus the Silver Leaf. One of the highlights of the trip was enjoying delicious meals in the dining room, sitting at a table with our travel companions. You’re taking a very special trip. Make it truly memorable!
