Hyland Family Restaurant
2nd visit was just as great as the 1st. Ordered steak and eggs was craving the veggie omelette, I decided to switch and try another dish on the menu. Steak was cooked to my liking, don't get that in Toronto as most restaurants are about quick service. Good things come to those who wait, I say!! Staff are always friendly, understanding and willing to help with anything. Even directions for an out of towner! :)

It's good. It’s a small town diner. You can't expect too much, and there is no point in being picky. If you want breakfast, you can get it. Eggs are cooked well, everything tastes okay. It is neither excellent nor awful. It is a good diner, if diners are your thing. Old people like it, and old people know all-day breakfasts.If you're looking for fancy hipster brunch with avocado gluten-free toast and acai quinoa smoothies, this is not the place. Nor should it be. There are lots of spots in the city for that pretentiousness. It'll fill you up with the basics.

Amazing place. So accommodating! We had a large group and miscalculated the number of people. They voluntarily and cheerfully rearranged the seating. Food came quickly, especially for such a large group. Orders were correct. Food was good. Waitress was amazing. Friendly, personable and efficient. This was my first time, but I will definitely be back.

It had been a few years since we last visited this gem of a family restaurant.We were in the area for the weekend on our 41st wedding anniversary and decide to have breakfast at the Hyland this morning.It was as good as we remembered it!Great breakfast...great service and the staff are so friendly.The joint was packed with hungry patrons and i couldn't believe how fast our food came out...hot and looking terrific!Our waitress was absolutely a hoot."Great meals at excellent prices.It's worth the drive to Port Perry just to have breakfast at the Hyland.DON'T pass up on their homefried potatoes!We will definately be back with family and friends.Thank you for the great dining experience."

This place always seems to be busy. Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Had Ruben, Philly steak sandwich and Greek salads.Great food great service!Go there. Eat there. Love it there!

I worked briefly for Emily and Bill, unfortunately I was going through a lot and didn’t work out. Emily accidentally finding me at a different place, even bringing Bill and their niece a few times to see me. I had to visit Emily at the Hyland. Sam, my server was amazing, super friendly and attentive. The turkey club sandwich was absolutely delicious. Navy bean soup on Fridays just amazing( I missed that ).Emily and Bill are the sweetest, kindest people I’ve met in a long time!Thank you. I definitely needed your kindness at this time.Love ya’s always
